Chiba Lotte ‘s Hiromi Oka hit a timely hit to take the lead.
Oka started as “No. 3 first baseman”. In the top of the third inning with no scores for both teams, he entered the second at-bat with a good opportunity to get one out and third base, and caught the sixth pitch from full count, the breaking ball thrown by the opponent’s starter Hiroya Miyagi pitcher. The ball landed center fielder ahead, giving the team the first run.
Oka returned from a left foot injury and was promoted to the first team on the 11th, and has been in good shape with a batting average of .357 in the next six games. He is demonstrating his competitive strength as a central axis.
