This time, it’s my very first solo trip to Korea. Please enjoy a simple journey exploring Busan’s classic spots! Finally, I’m here in Busan!! After getting off the PanStar Cruise, the first place I headed to was Seven-Eleven. Here, I bought a “T-money Card” first. It’s a prepaid transportation IC card usable in Korea, just like Japan’s Suica or PASMO. When I said “T-money card, please!” at the counter, a bunch of them appeared! Somehow, I managed to both purchase and top up the card. ☺️ Today’s hotel is “Toyoko Inn Busan Station 1.” It’s clearly visible from the ferry terminal, so that’s reassuring. Going against the flow of people, I made my way toward Busan Station. I entered Busan Station. It’s stylish, almost like an airport lounge. Wow… so this is Busan! The Toyoko Inn was right next to Busan Station. Check-in starts at 15:00, so I left just my luggage for now. Using the Korean map app “Naver Map,” I headed to ride the Songdo Marine Cable Car. According to the internet, I should take the bus marked “26”… Wait—it’s already here!!! I tapped the T-money card I bought earlier. Ah, I managed to get on somehow. There are no kei cars running here! I spotted a massive Lotte Mall. I got off at “Amnam-dong Community Center.” You also tap your T-money card when getting off. For now, I just followed the direction everyone else was walking. After walking for about 10 minutes while checking the map… There it is—the cable car!!! The ticket I got from PanStar Cruise turned out to be a round-trip ticket! Thank you, PanStar Cruise! The Songdo Marine Cable Car is a must-see tourist spot in Busan, opened in 2017. I thought it would be hard to get here, but it was actually pretty easy. Wow!! Such a beautiful view. It feels like I’m taking a walk in the sky. From the cable car, you can see Busan’s first-ever beach, Songdo Beach. At 1.62 km long and a maximum height of 86 m, it’s quite a thrilling experience. If there wasn’t a cable car, I’d have to take that walkway, which looks exhausting. In just about 7 minutes, I arrived at Amnam Park. So much fun! Today’s view is… The weather is amazing—it feels great! Looking again, it’s incredible how the cable car runs over such a unique place. I decided to take a short break at a café on the second floor. My very first Korean café! Exciting… They offer coffee, tea, yogurt, and even cakes. I ordered the “Ocean View Soda.” It had jelly inside and was a sweet soda. Delicious. I found a dinosaur. Looking closely, its mouth was stuffed with pinecones! Its neck was also under treatment. I took the cable car back as well. To my delight, on the return trip, I got the whole cable car to myself! This made me so happy!! It really felt like flying through the sky. With no one else around, it felt luxurious to have the view all to myself. To be honest, I was so anxious about traveling alone that I thought I’d just stay in the hotel once I arrived in Busan. But thanks to the T-money card and pocket Wi-Fi, my trip has been smooth so far! Since you can also come here from Fukuoka, I’d love to bring my family next time. While thinking about that, I arrived back in no time. The marine cable car is highly recommended! I got a bit lost trying to find the bus stop for the way back. I was too nervous to take anything other than the No. 26 bus… So I returned to Busan Station and checked in at Toyoko Inn. The front desk staff spoke Japanese, which was reassuring. Facilities and services are nearly identical to those in Japan. On the first floor, there’s alcohol for purchase and a currency exchange machine. And there’s also a Korean vending machine! Since toothbrushes weren’t provided in the room, I bought one from the vending machine. Huh? It won’t work… Maybe Korean coins don’t work here. This time I tried inserting bills, but it still didn’t work. So I went for it and put in a lot of money. Ah! It worked. Looks like the amount I had put in earlier wasn’t enough. Little mishaps like this are part of the fun. By the way, Toyoko Inn in Korea also offers free breakfast service. The room’s interior is exactly the same! Busan Station is right in front! The location of Toyoko Inn is perfect. One thing to note: the windows open downward. That’s… pretty scary. If you’re traveling with kids, you should be careful. There are 13 Toyoko Inn locations in Korea. The outlets are the familiar Japanese “Type A.” I never figured out how to use the air conditioner… This time, I decided to try taking the Korean subway. The underground passages had a different vibe from before. The atmosphere felt a bit like Osaka. T-money cards can be topped up easily at dedicated machines inside stations. There were no Japanese instructions, but I managed by guessing my way through. Station signs also included Japanese, which was very helpful. I went to Busan’s main streets, the Jagalchi and Nampo areas. Yay, I managed to ride both the bus and the train alone in Korea! I decided to get off at Nampo. Ah! There’s the Lotte Mall I saw earlier from the bus. Busan is famous for its markets, so I went to check one out. After walking a bit, I reached an area filled with countless stalls. They even had food! I found a stall packed with customers, so I decided to eat there. Surprisingly, they spoke Japanese too! The menu included dumplings, jeon (Korean pancakes), tteokbokki, oden, and more. Everything looked so delicious… I ordered jeon and tteokbokki. To say it first—it was super tasty! It was spicy, but also had a hint of sweetness. The jeon was packed with chives and very filling. At this stall, they even served barley tea for free. I had been wanting to try some local Korean food in Busan, so I was very happy. After eating, I strolled around the town again. One shop had clothes hanging everywhere. There was even a cat, which made the atmosphere nice. I arrived at the International Market. Wow!!! This is incredible!! The streets were lined with goods everywhere. It felt similar to Japan’s Kappabashi Tool Street, but with much more intensity. Busan’s International Market is the largest in the city, offering everything you need for daily life. Its roots trace back to after the Korean War, when people started selling U.S. army surplus goods. Markets like this are rare in Japan, so it felt very exotic and fun. The more I walked, the more different types of shops appeared. When I went outside, I spotted a shop with a long queue. I wasn’t sure what it was, but I lined up anyway. They were frying and pressing something. By the way, you pay while waiting in line (2,000 won). The shop’s specialty was “seed hotteok,” a pancake stuffed with nuts and seeds. Hotteok is a classic Korean snack made by wrapping brown sugar and cinnamon in wheat or glutinous rice flour dough and frying it. They had honey hotteok and seed hotteok, and without even asking, I was given the seed hotteok. They fry a bunch at once and hand them out all at once. The outside was crispy and freshly fried. Super tasty! The inside was packed with seeds. As the sun set, I returned to the hotel to relax for the rest of the day. My first day in Korea came to an end. Good morning. It’s morning! Time for breakfast at Toyoko Inn! I wonder what Toyoko Inn Busan’s breakfast is like? First, plenty of white rice. Then japchae and simmered Spanish mackerel. Meatballs and stir-fried vegetables with sausage. Kimchi and konjac seaweed salad, radish namul, and salted seaweed. Salad, fruit, and quail eggs. Vegetable porridge. And oden soup. Unusual beef bone soup. It felt like there were more dishes than at Toyoko Inn in Japan. It was such a hearty meal, hard to believe it was free! My first time in Busan was full of new things and turned out to be a really fun trip. Finally, I bought some Korean cosmetics at Olive Young before heading back to Japan. Since it was duty-free, it felt like a good deal. Goodbye Korea! I’ll be back again! Thank you very much for watching until the end.

I’m so glad I found your Busan videos- they’re so helpful! I love visiting Japan and recently became interested in seeing Busan. Your video about the Pan Star Ferry was so informative and I am very excited about the possibility of adding a trip to Busan during my next visit to Japan. ☺️🌸
Going to another country to visit a shopping mall. Once again, I'm convinced that Japanese society is going through a very serious crisis.
One of my favorite travels is not knowing too much of anything. There will be surprises, and every moment an unknown adventure! Well done! You look back now in this video and re-discover all the awe and mystery that you uncovered for yourself in this travel. I was just curious when you took the subway, why you tap your card when there were no gates to open getting through the gate @17:55?
Great video and great experience for your first time solo traveling abroad.
Google Map
Well done on your first sole mission abroad, I hope that this was just the first of many 🗺
Do you read English ?
As I see that lots of the signs were also wrote in English
