Japan Travel | Matsudo Chiba

Do you want a day in Japan where you don’t have to fight through the hustle and bustle of a busy city? We did that in Matsudo Chiba. We shopped, ate, and explored without having to fight through the crowds. Capture everything. [Music] Hello, welcome and welcome back. This video is about our first official day in Japan. We are meeting with my distant relative who lives in Matsuro. My aunt actually arranged for this day together. We will be seeing the side of Japan that most won’t go to see. Our first stop, the Royal Host for some breakfast. Here’s my husband’s POV for exploring the neighborhood early while I was getting ready. So, we can go to the park here to 7 over there. That was pretty cool. This is the local community of Huriki. There’s water here. This is footage of my family exploring without me. They were just headed to 7-Eleven. They walked around without knowing that the data wasn’t activated. And they found a 7-Eleven without having to look in Google Maps. Where are you walking? To find this family who lost themselves. I had to spend a few minutes looking for them in a few different 7-Elevens that we had in the area. Turns out they were in the furthest one and in the opposite direction of the train station. And you don’t even have your data on. Give me your phone. It doesn’t work. Yeah. Can you fix it? The eyes are scary. Those are my eyes. Like, oh, I can’t translate or anything cuz it’s not working. To be fair, I told everybody to check their phones before they left to make sure that it was working and nobody did. And I think that that face was warranted. And now we go back to our journey. Hello. Yeah, we’re headed to the train station now and we’re going to to Mitsudo today meeting up with a a distant relative and they’re going to take us around there. We were bound to stop for food because they just felt so good. And here’s our first stop, a fried squid. That was chicken skirt. To get here, we took the KCA line and transferred over to the Jovin line. This was supposed to take us 45 minutes, but of course, we got lost and did not get off on time and hit the end of the line and had to take two more trains to get to our destination. That’s okay. We planned for this and we still arrived on time. For those counting, we have gotten lost three times now. My little boy fell in love with trains in this trip to Japan. So much so that now when he sees a train, he feels sad because we don’t ride trains. I will say though, we got lost. Google Maps is pretty accurate when it comes to the transit system in Japan. It tells you where to get off and where to get on and where to sit in the car. We made it to Mitsuda. Not without getting lost, though. Sure. This is my distant aunt Lazelle and she used to take care of my mom and her siblings while they were children in the Philippines. For a first day in Japan, we honestly expected a lot more people, but I guess in Matsuro it is a lot less busy, which was something we learned to appreciate later. We finally reached the Royal Host. So many options for breakfast and a lot were western friendly except we were looking for something a little more traditional Japanese. Regardless, the food was delicious. We enjoyed it. On to our next stop and this is a shopping center in Mulo. This is our first impression of a shopping center in Japan. We are already so jealous because of all this good food, healthy options, and affordable pricing. Wow, look at all. This was our next stop after breakfast. She took us to a building that had GU and Daiso. We looked around the shopping building and found there was not a crazy amount of people. We didn’t know what the other stores were going to look like in the city, so we didn’t take a moment to appreciate the lack of traffic and stores. This shopping building had so many delicious food. We really wanted to eat. Our eyes were hungry, but our stomach’s full. So, we admired from a distance. This shopping mall, I don’t know the name of, but uh the address is here below. Like with the rest of the trip, I did a lot of YouTube video searching for different locations, places that had good food and good fun. But quite frankly, when you look up Matsudo on YouTube, you don’t really find too much. If you’re looking for some place new to visit in Japan in Chiba, let this be your sign. Going to the 100th floor. I think we just kept on going up up and eventually we hit the top. I don’t have a lot of footage of our time in GU, but I will say the prices are not all that different from here in Canada. We have Unilo in Canada and the prices in Canada and Japan are not very different. But this machine is new to me, so it is quite fun. Um, made me want to buy more. Welcome to the dollar store where everything is a dollar except for things that are marked not $1. So 100 yen. We’ve purchased my husband has purchased a few squid dried squid snacks. And this is clam. We think this is clam. Japanese pepper. Japanese pepper. And a bottle of water. Bottle of water. Yeah. I want the wood color, please. Buy lots of snacks, though. Yeah. We’re now headed for a thrift store. We heard a lot of good things about thrift stores in Japan where you can find good quality items for less. Now, this is really good for those who really like books or for designer bags. But if you’re looking for secondhand clothes, the prices are still not cheap. This is a thrift store. Yeah. So, here’s a few clips of prices for some bags that they had out on display. Name brands range from Coach, Tory Burch to Louis Vuitton. I say that the prices are not cheap for clothing, but that’s because the quality is still there. They determine the price depending on the quality of care. For example, these Louis Vuitton, there are some that have tears and they’re much more affordable than those who are in mint condition. Is that a chair? My husband loves backpacks. Is it a chair backpack? It’s a chair. Okay. We’re going to Kashiwa. Kashiwa. And we’re on the We’re taking the Joben line. Yeah. Joben line. Joan line. No. No. How long have you lived here? No. It’s 20 years. 20 years. 25. Maybe. Yeah. My aunt has been living in Japan for almost 25 years. She speaks Japanese as a second language and Tagalog or Filipino as a first. She didn’t really speak to us much because she just wasn’t as confident speaking English. But we appreciate her taking us around Matsuda. Where’s my baby? Oh, the casino. We are now headed to another shopping center with a dawn kiote. This place was located in Cashua. She wanted to take us to places that weren’t so crowded and again we did not know to appreciate it beforehand. This is the address for this donote in Cashua. This is our first donote and we visited a lot. It was good to know what items are available here and how much they are. Not all donkeyas carry the same unique gifts. We have seen this several times because we found really neat gifts and said, “Oh, we’ll just buy it at the end of our trip.” Only to never find it again. My husband has begrudged me because he found a tea that he really liked in one place and did not find it anywhere else. We’re not really people who like to shop and we’re definitely not here to shop in Japan. We’re just looking for really unique gifts and skincare and hair care. Well, you know, at least I am. M food. Papa, why are you wearing PJs in a supermarket? Why you wearing PJs in public? What are you talking about? Stop. He had a puke and he had ruined his outfit. Poop. Yes. Did you puke? I love you, too. [Music] Did you like the mushroom? It’s locked. No. After a long day of walking, we finished our day with my aunt and we decided to eat. We dined at her favorite spot for Shabu Shabu or hot pot. The food was good and the company was better. Shout out to Dita Lazal who not only took us around Matsudo in Keshawa but also treated us to breakfast in the dinner. We’re here for a showerhead and there was a four four shower heads. It is now the end of our trip. We have departed Matsudo and are on our way back home to Horiguri. We had a fruitful visit to Matsudo. We enjoyed our time there and the food and the company. And we hope you enjoyed this video. Are you tired? We’re just 3 minutes away. Hope your legs are not tired. A day is the not-so hectic Matsudo!

We started our morning in the peaceful neighbourhood of Horikiri, Chiba, ready for a chill day exploring local streets, avoiding the crowds, and uncovering hidden gems. The mission? Make our way to Matsudo, Chiba for a day of shopping, food and maybe a few surprises along the way.

We took a few wrong turns, got a little lost navigating the trains, but eventually found our way. Once we reached Matsudo, we hit the jackpot: quiet streets, amazing food, and thrift stores loaded with designer clothes, handbags, and watches โ€” all without the chaos of busy tourist spots.

Whether you’re into fashion finds or just looking for a relaxing shopping day in Japan, Matsudo is an underrated spot you need to see.
