Hello YouTube! Today’s walk takes us through 
Kumamoto City, Japan. We’ll start from Kamitori, walk through the Shimotori arcade, and make 
our way to Sakuramachi Kumamoto and Nishiginza street. Kumamoto city is located on Kyushu the 
third largest island of Japan and is the third largest city in Kyushu. In recent years, it has 
gained attention for successfully attracting semiconductor companies making it a key player 
in the industry. The city is also well known as the hometown of Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the 
popular manga One Piece. Additionally, Kumamoto’s mascot, Kumamon, is loved all across Japan. 
In Kumamoto, two of the busiest areas are Sakura Machi Kumamoto and Shimotori. Sakura Machi 
Kumamoto is a large commercial complex and bus terminal featuring a shopping mall in a 
variety of restaurants, attracting both locals and tourists. On the other hand, Shimotori is the 
city’s largest shopping arcade, lined with numerous stores and restaurants, making it a great spot 
for shopping and dining. Beyond the city, you’ll find famous attractions like Kumamoto castle, one 
of Japan’s three most renowned castles, Mount ASO, with its breathtaking natural scenery, and Suizenji
Jojuen, a beautifully designed Japanese garden. When it comes to local cuisine Basashi (horse Sashimi) 
is a must-try specialty of the region. A visit to Kumamoto City offers a mix of historical 
landmarks, modern commercial districts, growing Industries and rich food culture. There’s so much
