Universal Studios Japan 2025: Halloween Horror Nights Guide!

Halloween Horror Nights is back at Universal Shoes Japan. And the big question always is, do you actually need the Express Pass? I’m going to give you my honest answer along with my best insider tips for navigating the crowds, maximizing scares, and enjoying the best snacks. From Hamikuma’s new lore to living my Resident Evil fantasy, and meeting the latest Chainsaw Man character, I’m diving into every scare zone, haunted house, exclusive food, and limited edition merch, so you know exactly what’s worth your time, money, and screams. So, you don’t have to buy extra tickets. It’s on every day. And the houses, so this one and the Chucky House are open during the day, so you can get it done before the evening time happens. Cuz there is stuff that happens in the evening as well that’s only in the evening. But this stuff you can do during the day. So, we’re going to be doing this house here in the daylight. Maybe it won’t be as scary. Right. Right. So, this one is factory of fear zombie tour. Here we go. Oh my god. Oh my goodness. Oh jeez. It’s touching me. It’s touching me. I’m in a freezer. It’s cold. Oh, it’s kind of nice. Oh, someone’s hand. Someone’s hand. Someone’s hand. Someone’s hand. I don’t know what to do. Oh, that is cool. I got to push one. I push one. What’s going on? Oh, wait. [Music] Another button. I got to push another button. [Applause] Where is this? No. [Laughter] My throat hurts from screaming. We couldn’t show you the ending. The ending was spectacular. This is a nice change from the Universal Monsters that they did. So, this was quite interactive. So, you saw me I was pressing buttons. You have to push buttons in different rooms to I guess like subdue the the the zombies. So this is where they make the zombies and they inject the bodies with something called brain rot to animate them. They stagger you a little bit. So it’s not a conga line cuz you know like in the US it’s usually just a conga line. No, this they stagger you so you can do the interactive elements and stuff. I want to do this again. I’m going to come back at night I think and do it. Right behind me here is the Chainsaw 4D show and right over here you can meet Smiley that is in the Chainsaw Man Show. Chainsaw Man is back again for a second time for Halloween Horror Nights. Yes. So, it’s the same show as last year, but it was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it. We’re going to head inside and watch it again because I really enjoyed it last year. But I’m going to use the footage from last year just so I can enjoy it without filming this time. They’re going to eat us. Oh no. Oh no. They’re going to go ride the Hollywood tree. That was a lot of fun. I love that there’s they redid the main street here at Universal Studios Japan. I think that’s so awesome. And they they went and rode the Hollywood Dream after all this. I mean, you can’t have Chainsaw Man 4D without snacks. And yes, there are snacks. A chorizo pastry and a steamed bun. Oh yes. So we have the Chainsaw Man snacks. So they added a new one this year. So we have here is the Chainsaw Man chorizo pastry. And here we have the ponchita mushroom and bacon steamed bun. [Music] It tastes like I’m eating very thick mushroom soup with some bacon inside of it. I wish there was maybe some pepper in this. I think that would have made it a little bit better. You don’t really need salt. It’s already a little salty. The bun is nice and soft, though. I’m going to give this a three. This is a three. Yeah, kind of middle of the road kind of thing. It’s not terrible, but it’s not like going to make you scream like that on a roller coaster. Next, we’re having the Chainsaw Man chorizo pastry. The color is interesting to say the least. Well, I we tried to break it open, but uh it’s a full-on sausage. I didn’t think it was going to be that. I thought it was going to be maybe pieces of chorizo, but no, it’s it’s fullon. She’s spicy. Now, this is what I’m talking about. It’s simple, but it works. It’s spicy, nice and flavorful. There’s some sauce in here, too. I think it’s like a tomato sauce, but it’s actually being overpowered by the spice. I am not mad at that. The pastry is flaky. This is a five. This is a five. I would get this over the steamed bun. If you want something with a lot of flavor, this is good. I’m going to eat this whole thing. Good job. If you want Chainsaw Man merchandise, it’s here at the Halloween store, which is attached to the 4D theater. So, we’re going to go check it out. Yes, there is Chainsaw Man merchandise and we’re going to look at some of it. Oh, I can tell some of this stuff is really cute already. Oh, is this a hand? It’s a hand warmer. How much are you? 4900 yen. A headband with popcorn. Like, come on. That is so good. 3,600 yen. And then up here we have a t-shirt. I love that. Says Universal Studios Japan. Me, small, medium, and large and extra large. There’s Smiley. Yes. And how much are you? You are 4,700 yen. I like the variety. There’s I don’t think there’s as much as last year, but they do have some cute chainsaw man merchandise. We love a collab. There’s this makeup brand called Kate here in Japan, and they sponsored this experience. I have no idea what this is, but we’re going to head inside and find out. And everyone screaming is just as excited. Here we go. Oh, we’re putting on makeup apparently. Okay. This whole experience was a little strange. I didn’t fully understand what was going on. There was these different witches that had different emotions. And then we were put into this room that was just red. And then we were put into these booths where we got our pictures taken and we had to do different poses. So we had to do like an anger pose, a happy pose that just all these different poses and they actually took our picture. The graphics and stuff actually thought were kind of cool. And it rated our emotions, I guess, or our our facial reactions. And then we got a printable sticker of our face, which I thought was strange. And then it told us what our makeup profile was. And then you went out to the this Kate Tokyo spot and you had to put on makeup that it told you to do. I just thought this was very strange and this was definitely not for me. I am not the target audience for this. I was supposed to put on makeup, but I just completely skipped it. Once you leave, you get a free sample of lipstick. So, there’s three three or four different shades. So, I just grabbed this one. I don’t know which one to grab. I just grabbed one. This overall I thought for me a little weird. I I personally wouldn’t do this again. For anyone that’s into makeup, you may want to check this out. For me, if you’re looking for something uh scary, this is uh definitely not it. However, we do have some scares coming up. So, uh that’s actually where we get scared. Chucky’s Carnival Chaos is back again this year. And of course, we’re going to go in. I’m probably going to get scared even though I’ve done it before. It’s always a good time. And as I mentioned before, this is one of the houses that is open during the day, so you can get it done before nightfall. Here we go. These 3D glasses make it feel weird. Like the screen looks all funny. [Music] Hi, Chucky. Hi, Chucky. Hi. I don’t like hallways. I don’t like hallway. [Music] [Applause] Seven years bad luck. Seven years bad luck. The glasses just makes all the colors pop. It’s like a weird feeling. Okay. Okay. Thank you. Oh. Oh, that’s Oh, oh, yeah. [Music] Chucky’s a classic. I think this is the either the second or third year they’ve done the same one as before. So, if you did it last year, it’s exactly the same. You wear the glasses, you go through, you see Glenn. I do like how they kind of stagger people through these houses as well. It’s not just a big conga line, which I really do enjoy. Mel’s Drive-In has a burger for Halloween Horror Nights that I want to try. So, we’re going to head inside and give it a go. Here we have the American teriyak burger. I’m not sure what makes it American. Um, Americans out there, please tell me. As a Canadian, I don’t know. Comes with fries and a drink. I got Coke Zero. This looks like a messy burger. Yeah. The teriyaki sauce is quite messy. Oo. So, it looks like there’s onion rings and cheese and pickles, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato. There’s also pine pineapple and tortilla chips for some reason. It doesn’t look very appetizing, but teriyaki burgers, no matter how you make them, they’re always messy from other restaurants as well, cuz you you dip the patty in the teriyak sauce. So, let’s see how this tastes. There’s a lot going on with this burger. The tortillas, nice and salty, they get a little bit soggy sitting in there too long, which kind of makes sense. The pineapple is a surprise. Gives it a nice sweetness. Teriyaki sauce, even though it looks like there’s a lot on here, I wish there was a little bit more or if the teriyak sauce is a little more rich. The burger is fine. Like the burger patty itself, uh, I don’t I didn’t taste cheese. I don’t know if there actually was cheese. It’s hard to tell. Onion rings just kind of turned to mush a little bit. This burger is a miss for me, unfortunately. I’m going to give this a two. This is a two. Yeah. I’m going to enjoy the fries though and the Coke Zero. Oh, I want to look at the Hamikuma merchandise. Yes, please. Yes. So cute. I love it. Here we go. Hammy Kuma candy a hat and a shirt. Looks like a spirit jersey. I don’t think it is. They have a plush version. Yes. Oh my goodness. Yes. Please, please, please, please. How much are you? You are 5900 yen. Is this candy? Oh, it’s candy. Hard to see the reflection. I love that shirt though. Ooh, bracelet set. 2900 yen. Yeah, it feels like a t-shirt. This is Ham Kuba candy and it is How much are you? 5,700 yen. The hat is 4,600 yen. I kind of want the keychain. 2,900. Yeah, the keychain is really cute. I have 5 minutes, so I have to hurry. You can buy all the plushes. Yeah, all four of them. How cute is that? This display is wonderful. Got the t-shirt and the keychain. I have the Hamikuma keychain. I like that bag, too. Hamikuma soul stuff looks really good, too. [Music] The display just so good. Currently, for the Hamikuma merchandise, I don’t know how long they’re going to do this, but they’re doing timed entry tickets. So, you have to do it through the Universal Studios Japan app to get into the store to buy the Hamikuma merchandise. They usually do it for maybe the first week and then it kind of calms down. They don’t need to do it anymore. But just be aware you may have to get a timed entry to get into the store. Just outside one of the main shops here, there’s the leather handiccrafts and they have new Hamikuma keychains that you can get. 2,300 yen, but it looks like they sold out of Hamikuma Punk. That is so nice. And you can get your name engraved on them. Oh, there is a new Hamikuma popcorn bucket. And we’re going to check it out. And there’s a new popcorn flavor. Look at Look at this. How you can smell the strawberry cookie flavor. Oh my goodness. And I love this. This is so good. There is a new Hemi popcorn bucket here. It is 5,500 yen. And look how adorable he is. His claws are nice and soft. This is adorable. The strap is cute. And the popcorn goes in the back. You can ask for it separately as well, so you don’t have to put it in there if you don’t want to. That’s not all, though. He has a voice box in the back of his head. Everyone is screaming at how excited they are for this popcorn bucket. So from what I can tell one he was saying even if I die I still live which okay yeah that’s very hamikuma and the other one is let’s dance but he it’s it’s hard to explain cuz he does a play on words cuz for at the end of a Japanese sentence you say yes but if you kind of say it with a lisp it sounds like you’re saying just say it with a lisp. So, I don’t want to say it here on YouTube cuz I might get suppressed, but just say death with a lisp and you can kind of guess the play on words that he is saying. It’s really cute. So, you can find this popcorn bucket at four locations throughout the park. You can get your very own Hamikuma popcorn bucket. And there’s a new popcorn flavor. So, two of the locations have a strawberry cookie flavor and the other ones are caramel. So, we’re going to be trying the strawberry cookie. It smells a lot like strawberry. Look how red it is. You can taste the cookie straight away. And it’s buttery, too. So, has a strawberry candy flavor. The cookie flavor is a little subtle. There’s more strawberry and then butter and salt. This is really good. I’m going to give this a four. This is a four. Yeah. Well, me and my my buddy Hamikuma here are going to go find some more food. Right across from Louis Pizza is the Hamikuma meet and greet. They brought it back again this year and we’re going to go inside. Oh my goodness. Hello. Bye. Bye. Hello, Hammy Kuma. Oh my goodness. [Music] Hi. Bye. Bye. Bye. M. Mat. That was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed that. Just like last year. was so much fun. I think you really need to do the photo op, especially if you love Hamikuma. Who doesn’t love Hamikuma? I know he’s going to Hollywood this year in the US. So maybe he’ll become more popular, more global. So I got my photos with both Hamikuma and Hamikuma Soul. And Universal did provide me with the photos cuz it does cost some money. Let’s look at the photos. That is so fun. Me and Hamikuma. And then you get to choose a special photo that you can only get from this special greeting. I think that’s so cute. Here I am with Heikuma Soul. These photos are really good. And I chose the other photo cuz there’s two special photos that you can choose from. So I got one of each. So if you want the full package here, it’s 4500 yen. So you get two photos plus this extra photo that I showed you. Also, these two you get as a digital download plus one additional photo that they took cuz they take five in total. You get another additional one as a digital download for 4500 yen. Or if you just want to get just a digital photo, you don’t want this. It’s 2,000 yen. Also, don’t worry. They will take a photo for you if you have your your phone with you. So, they will take a couple of photos as well. So, you can get physical photos, digital downloaded photos with a professional camera and then one taken with your own phone. 4500 yen. That’s actually not a bad deal. This is the only way you can meet Hamikuma and Hamikuma Soul because they’re only in the stage show. They don’t do any other greetings anywhere else in the park. So, this is the only way that you can meet them. There’s Hamikuma food. And of course, we need to try it. You’ll find all the Hamikuma food here in the Universal Market, which is just in front of Louis Pizza. So, there is this churro here. Yum. Here we have the Hamikuma punk dog. Black cheese sauce and pepper. Oh my goodness. Oh, I love Amikuma candy. How cute are they? We also have a Hamikuma chocolate kima curry. That is very interesting. And Hamikuma soul chicken and a cheese white curry. Hamikuma soul is looking into my soul. What a cutie. Explorers. I want to know which of the Hamikumas, Hamikumas, is that how you say it? Which one is your favorite? Please, I want to know in the comments because I know Hamikuma is making their debut over in Hollywood. So, I just want to know what your favorite is. We have four here. This smells incredibly sweet. And it looks sweet. The packaging looks sweet. Hamikuma candy. How brilliant is that? How many more can they come up with? So this is the Hamikuma candy. Cheeritos. Strawberry candy. There’s marshmallows on here. It looks like little Smarties and just strawberry. It is incredibly potent. [Music] I’m just reenacting my taste buds right now. You know my thoughts on churros. I’m always kind of lukewarm. Lukewarm. What was that, Chris? When it comes to the churros. The churo’s fine. Whatever. It’s about the toppings. It’s incredibly sweet. We got the Smarties and everything. Yeah, the strawberry is definitely there. I’m going to give this a two and a half. It’s a two and a half. Yeah, I do like all the candies on it. We’re trying all the wild colored food today, aren’t we? So, Hammy Punk, Hamikuma Punk has this black cheese sauce and pepper hot dog. I don’t know what to say. The black cheese is black and there’s blue on here. I had to ask. I said, “What is the blue?” And they told me it’s mayonnaise. Okay. The packaging is very cute. Hamikuma punk. Man, this is going to be so messy. I am I am scared for my shirt and my beard. Oh man. I don’t know. M [Music] I don’t know what’s going on. There’s some other meat in here and I don’t know what it is. This is what I would have looked like if I tried to do the makeup at the Kate thing earlier. This is a surprise hit. The pepper gives it a nice kick. The blue mayonnaise, nice and creamy. The mystery meat, I’m not sure what that is. I think there’s also onion in here, too. And the black pepper or the black cheese sauce is really nice and creamy as well. Sausage nice and juicy. This is a five. I’m going to eat this whole thing. Get it. The Bellagerie, of course, always has delicious food. And they have Hamikuma and Hamikuma candy. We’re going to try it. Music in here makes me feel fancy. But speaking of fancy, look at these fancy desserts. Hamikuma and Hamikuma candy. If you’ve watched my videos for a while, you know that I always rave about the desserts here at the Bellagerie because I think they do such a fantastic job with it. So, there are two different cakes to choose from. Both of them look delicious. So, this one is the Hamikuma Psycho Circus Cake, bitter chocolate. And this one is the Hamikuma candy cake, M Dash Strawberry. Don’t worry, AI did not write that. A human did. First, we’re going to have the Hamikuma cake. I think the presentation on this is just so well done. Look at his little paw coming out of the the circus tent. Oh, it’s She’s dense. Oh, wow. Look, look inside there. So, it looks like there’s chocolate mousse and a dense chocolate cake. [Music] The cake is dense, but incredibly moist. There’s nothing worse than a dry cake. So, I am very happy that it is nice and moist. I don’t really get the bitter chocolate all that much. There are some nuts in here. And the chocolate mousse is There’s two different types of chocolate mousse it looks like on there, but I can tell anyway. Okay. Flavor-wise, it’s not bad. But you know my feelings on chocolate. I’m kind of like e iffy on chocolate. I’m going to give this one a three. This is a solid three. Kind of middle of the row. Just above middle of the road, I would say for this one. [Music] Oh, that’s where the bitter chocolate is. Oh, I don’t like that. No, I don’t like that. Oh, I don’t like the bitter chocolate. Oh, no. Mm- You know what? That’s exactly what I would think Hamikuma would taste like if I was to bite his arm. Oh yeah, there’s the bitter chocolate. Okay, now I get it. It’s not for me. If you like bitter chocolate, you’ll probably like that, but that’s that’s just not for me. Next up is the Hamikuma candy strawberry cake. Look at it. Look at it. Look at Look at Look how cute that is. I’m getting kind of like Harajuku vibes with this. That’s kind of what I’m getting. Hakuma should open up a cafe here in Osaka, in Tokyo, Nagoya. Do it in Fukuoka. Do it up in Saporro. I would go to every single one of them. The little candy on the top says Halloween on there. Just it just looks like looks like he gum candy. Is that just straight up strawberry? Oh, it is. Okay. So, it’s like strawberry mousse in the middle. [Music] Aha, I was right. There’s strawberries in the middle, too. [Music] What is that? Who is she? Who is she? We need to know. Strawberries and something else. The icing is the right amount of sweet. It’s a little sweeter than normal, but not overly abundant in sweetness. The strawberry mousse is nice and light, so they balance each other out. This is a four and a half for me. This is a really, really nice dessert. And it’s refreshing, too. Seriously, these desserts are just so good. And I’m I’m always impressed with the Bellagerie for desserts. And not just like these seasonal ones. They have the ones that are available year round and they’re just it’s always a delight. This is one of my favorite places to come. So, come here for cake or a salad. They also have some um plant-based options as well. And speaking of plant-based options, I do have a video where we tried all the plant-based food at Universal Studios Japan. So, I’ll put up on the screen. So, when you’re done this video, make sure you go and watch that one. And like, even if you’re not a plant-based person, the plant-based food here is topnotch. One of my favorite desserts is plant-based. And you you can find out in the video which one that is. Actually, you know what? I’m going to go get it now. Here at Finnegan’s, they have Resident Evil food. And guess we’re going to try it. There’s one meal, and it’s the Chris Redfield steak meal. And then there are four drinks. And every time you get a drink, you get one secret coaster. We’re going to be trying all four of the drinks. And you can get them either with or without alcohol, which I think is nice. I like that they give that a show. So, Finnegan is actually closing in November permanently. We don’t know what’s coming. So, this is going to be your last chance to get a biohazard meal. I would recommend getting here and getting a reservation. So, outside there was a QR code that you can scan to get yourself a reservation to come back. When we got here, it was a 90inut wait. I wouldn’t wait until the evening to come and do this because in the evening, you want to do all the scare zones and also the nighttime show. So, I would do this maybe for lunch or a late lunch or something. Or if you want, do it as soon as as soon as they open. You can have steak and alcoholic beverage if you want first thing in the morning. I’m not going to judge. No, it’s it’s your vacation. Do whatever you want. Here are the four drinks. So, the first one here is the Claire Redfield Berry Rouge Soda. I love that there’s glitter on there. That’s cute. And then over here we have the Leon S. Kennedy Coke Mojito. You got a little chocolate in there, it looks like. And over here we have the Jill Valentine lemon ginger rail. Again, we got a chocolate in there. These all look really refreshing. And then this one is the Albert Wesker smoked tea. I love that it has an umbrella chocolate in there and a stick of cinnamon. So, I got the non-alcoholic versions. So, there are five five coasters and you’re given one at random with every drink that you purchase. So, you get the Jill, you can get Chris, Claire, Leon, or Albert Wesker. I do like the designs of these. [Music] Great. Fantastic. Here we have the Claire Redfield Berry Rouge Soda. Yes, this is very clear Redfield. I love the glitter on the top. That’s definitely white chocolate. And we’ve got some berries on the bottom here. Probably blueberries and I think strawberries. So, we’re just going to mix it up. Oo. Oh, strawberries are getting stuck. Oh, there’s jelly in here, too. There’s always jelly in these drinks. I don’t know why I act so surprised. Very strawberry. You can taste a little bit of the blueberry, but not too much. This would probably be better with alcohol. These are all non-alcohol versions. I’m giving this one a three. Again, I like giving extra points for the presentation and the fact that you get a coaster with it as well. You’re mainly getting it for the coaster. These drinks are never going to be over the top in terms of all the flavor that they they offer. So, I think a three is pretty generous. Generous. This one is interesting. This is the Albert Wesker smoked tea. I can smell cinnamon. I’m incredibly interested to see what this is. It looks like there’s a like one little single cherry in there. And there’s also an umbrella corporation chocolate on the top. I’m going to use this to stir. Actually, there’s a little bit of smokiness to it. Not too much. Oh, there’s some syrup in here. Some probably gum syrup. I do like the cinnamon in there. It gives it a nice cinnamon spice. I like this more than the Claire Redfield one. I’m going to give this one a three and a half. It’s not that much better cuz you know these taste like mixers. It’s I’m just having the mixers without the alcohol. But in this heat, yeah, no thank you. We’re We’re not doing that. What coasters did I get? You know what would be funny if this one was Claire and this one was Albert Wesker. Okay, you’re going to see before me. Is it Claire? Is it? Oh. Oh my goodness. I switched it. If this is Claire, I’m going to be so mad. Are you Are you kidding? Are you kidding? I’m serious. We did not look at these ahead of time. I just randomly grabbed them. That is Sometimes you need to go with your first choice. Chris Redfield didn’t get his own drink. He got his own meal. Yes, we have a borch. We have a steak with mushroom and demiglaze sauce and some bread. What’s with all the red colored stuff and me choosing to wear white? I’m doing this because I do not do not want to spill on myself because it’ll just ruin everything. I do like that the borch has some I’m assuming that’s sour cream in there to give it some creamy texture. I’m not a connoisseur when it comes to borch. So, we’ll see. I have a feeling it’s supposed to be a little more thicker. Little thick. It’s kind of runny. If I’m wrong, please tell me. There’s beets in here and tomatoes. So, it’s almost like a a tomatoey like a tomato soup borch. It’s kind of what I’m getting here. I’m missing that that earthy flavor. You know, when you have beets, you kind of taste like not dirt, but you taste like it’s an earthy flavor. And that’s what I’m missing here. I kind of I wish we had that. Dip the bread. Oh, that’s garlic butter on top. That’s nice. Although, I think I would have preferred this to have been toasted, not just sliced bread. Let’s try the flank steak. It’s a little chewy. I think the flank steak is a little too well done for my taste. Well, I mean, it’s a flank steak. It’s going to cook all the way through really quickly. It’s fine. That’s it. I did like the spices on the potatoes. Those were nice. I wish the potatoes maybe had something else on them, like maybe some more butter or something. Overall, it’s kind of a bland meal, unfortunately. I think when they did this previous years, it was a lot better. This year, yeah, I’m going to have to give this for the price, 3,200 yen. I think there should have been a little bit more bolder flavors with this. Especially with Biohazard, Resident Evil, I think of like bold, in-your-face kind of things. The drinks were fantastic. The meal is a miss for me. This is a two, unfortunately. I don’t know if you can hear it, but you can feel the base. Right outside is the Pokemon daytime show that they’re doing for Halloween. I’m gonna have a video on the daytime, like familyfriendly Halloween stuff, not just all the spooky stuff because Universal Studio Japan goes all out with this Halloween. Not just horror nights, but there’s Pokémon, peanuts, and all that. So, make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss that video because that’s also a lot of fun, too. It’s good for the whole family. The Halloween store has all the Biohazard merchandise. So, let’s check it out. Biohazard, aka Resident Evil merchandise. Let’s go. Look, there’s zombie hands here. That is a nice little detail. Oh, you can buy the dog. It’s 4,900 yen. And there’s also the liquor. I think this is from last year, but it was very popular. It’s a shoulder buddy. 3,300 yen. Oh, there are blind box stuff stuffed keychains. 1,900 yen. I don’t even know which one I’d want. I probably want Joe or Chris, maybe. You know, I’d be happy with any of them. I absolutely love that you can get a raccoon police shirt and a hat and a bag, keychains, and a hat, clipboard, face towel, ballpoint pen set, and a t-shirt. Ooh, it’s like sweat waking thinking. I’m thinking 4,700 yen. That’s nice. And I like that it says University of Japan on it. Biohazard Night of Heroes is back this year. And we’re going to go check it out. It’s not night time yet, but don’t worry, they have it earlier, like late afternoon, and then in the evening when it actually is dark. And you need a timed entry for this, so you got to do it through the Universal Street Japan app. Some nights they may not have it, but most days they probably will. So, just check the app and it’ll tell you. So, they’re doing something new this year. They actually have an English version from 8:30 to 9:30. That’s actually pretty awesome. Last year it was only in English or only in Japanese and you got to do the timed entry through the app. So, make sure you do that. [Music] Yes, [Music] [Applause] my dad. [Music] I’m so happy that they brought that back. I love seeing Chris and Claire Redfield, Leon and Jill, the nemesis liquor. If you’re a fan of Resident Evil, you need to check this out. It’s It’s short and sweet and to the point and full of fanfare. Great. It’s wonderful. The sun has fallen and the night has risen here at Universal Studios Japan. That means even more horrors await us. As I’m laughing, I want to tell you about Hamikuma because we saw it earlier, but you couldn’t really see the screen because it was so bright out. They have a little animated short that’s five minutes long. It’s subtitled in English. I was going to say dubbed. It’s not dubbed. It’s subtitled in English. Giving a more fleshed out backstory for Hamikuma. And it is Chile. The backstory behind Hamikuma. So, he was a bear in a circus called the Oloy Oloy. I’m not sure if I’m saying that right. Oloy Family Circus and he became incredibly popular in the show and he was going to be like the the headliner and the other performers got very jealous of him and there was rumors that were spread about Hamikuma that he wasn’t a real bear. So this led to all these rumors and speculation and these performers that performed with him they were essentially to me his friends. They lured him into the circus and uh took his life, opened him up to see if someone was inside. And no, there was no one. The performers, they lit the tent on fire and Hamikuma left this realm, this this plane of existence. But Hamikuma didn’t stay away for long. Somehow he came back into this life as Hamikuma as we see him today. But we do not know how he came back. So we’re gonna have to find out when. I don’t know. They just left it at that. They left it at that cliffhanger. Speaking of Hamikuma, we’re going to head on over and watch the show. So here are the times for the show. 6:20, 7:20, 2020. Just make sure you check cuz it may change. But there’s also a special viewing area that’s closer to the stage. And they do have walk up tickets. Well, it’s sold out today, but if you check earlier in the day, they may have some still left. [Applause] [Music] [Music] I love Hamikuma Gandandy. Adorable. Oh, I don’t know how they come up with this stuff. I really don’t. So, this year they went a rock theme. I’ll be honest, probably not my favorite version. I think the first year they did it, I think that was the best one. However, with that said, the live singing and the live instruments, that’s I know that’s not easy and like I don’t do that. I can’t do that. So, kudos to everyone that did that because talent. I don’t have that kind of talent. But, I love seeing all the bears out there. They’re so cute. Oh my goodness. So, for this show, you probably want to get here at least half an hour early to an hour cuz I know this is going to be very popular. It’s always popular every single year. So, make sure you come and check it out. Okay, as you can tell, it is finally dark. You know what that means? The horrors come out. So, we’re heading to the front of Mills because I am told there is a show happening and someone or something is making its debut here at Universal Studios Japan. Yeah. Heat. [Music] Now it is time to check out all the scare zones with the zombies and other horrific things that are waiting for us. It is so loud in here. Oh my goodness. Oh, that’s cool. Zombie. Hold on. [Music] So, it’s not like traditional scare zones that you think of like in the US parks or anything. So, it’s just these different types of zombies roaming around and the different parts of the park. A lot of flashing lights going on. They’re going to be doing some dancing very soon. Yes, our zombies dance to dance. Megan’s here. Hey, Megan. Hey, girl. Where you going? Oh, oops. She did it again. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] As you can see, things work a little bit differently when they start doing the dance. People know to kind of just move out of the way and let the the zombies do their thing. So, this area here looks like it was all zombie stuff. I got sidetracked by Megan. What horrors await us over here? Oh my goodness, it’s back. I do not know what this thing is called, but it is a nightmare. The best costume. Such a nightmare. I was just going to say it’s so interesting. Like I’ve been living in Japan for well over a decade now, so I’m used to things here. I It’s always just interesting how different the how Horror Nights is here. And I’m not mad at it. I do enjoy it. They really know their audience. Oh, look who’s here. It’s Megan and Megan. And Megan and Megan and Megan. In the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the Death Eaters are back. And I’m told it’s a little different this year. The Death Eaters are back here at Hogsme. [Music] 1 2 3 stupify. We did it. You can’t intimidate me. We’ll fight until every last one of you is brought to justice. So, the Death Eaters come out every evening during Halloween Horror Nights Heights. And as you know, Halloween Horror Nights happens every evening. And if you have an interactive wand, you can actually battle with the Death Eaters. I’m not very good at it. I tried. I gave it my best. Citizens on Fox Seed, heed my warning. They say they’re a killer. Death eaters are among us. Stay vigilant. As the death eaters go around Hogsme, you can see these little shows that kind of pop up randomly. Like there’s the one at the Hogwarts Express and there’s other little pockets around Hogsme. So make sure you keep an eye out if you’re over here in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in the evening time. Even Jurassic Park the Ride gets in on the Halloween Horror Nights fun. They have a completely in the dark version called Jurassic Park the ride in the dark. And I’m going to give it a go. I can’t film on the ride, but not that you’d be able to see much cuz it’s in the dark. But I’m going to head on there and uh see how it is. I’ll report back. Well, that was a lot more terrifying in the dark than I thought it would be. Initially, I wasn’t really excited about it. I was like, “Oh, they just turned the lights off.” Yeah, it is pitch black in there once you get into the the warehouse. If you if you’ve ever ridden Jurassic Park the ride, you know the warehouse, right? Yeah. You can hear the dinosaurs. You can’t see them. The only thing you can see are the sensors that are along the the path. That is it. Nothing. It was fun. It was It was good fun. Yeah. Halloween Horror Nights is one of my favorite times of the year here at Universal Studios Japan. And you want to be prepared, okay? That’s why you’re watching this video. There’s other stuff to do in the park. So, I want to tell you about our guide books. We have two of them. one on snacks and one on pretty much everything else. How the hotels work, how the express passes work, tickets, what restaurants are the best, what rides are the best, just everything you need to know to plan your trip here because you do not want to come unprepared. Let’s hope for Jill. Because like I mentioned, Jill is like my main survivor on Dead by Daylight. So, I think this would be perfect. We’re gonna find out together. By together, I mean I’m gonna close my eyes and then you’ll find out before me. I can’t tell who it is. Stars. Okay, I got Nemesis. You know what? That’s still He is in Dead by Daylight. I will take it. I really do like that. That’s really cute. I have some tips for you to make the most out of Halloween Horror Nights here at Universal Studios Japan. So, I would say do the Two Houses during the day because they open at 10:00 a.m. So, do those and that way you don’t have to worry about once night falls. You can enjoy the zombie zones, you can watch the Hamikuma show. So, just do them during the day. And same with the Hamikuma food that is in the Universal Market because they do close that earlier than park close. So if you want to make sure you get some of that Hamikuma food, do it during the day. As for express passes, there is one for the Biohazard Night of Heroes. I don’t think you need to get it. Save your money for other express passes like something for Super Nintendo World or any other attractions. As long as you’re here early enough, and most of you that are watching are probably going to be here early, you can get that timed entry once you get into the park. Like get one for Super Nintendo World and then get one for Resident Evil as I almost fall over and I think you should be perfectly fine. Unless you are really really adamant on seeing the Biohazard show, there is an express pass available through Cluke that you can get if you want, but like I said, I don’t think you really need to get it. And if you are here with little explorers or maybe you don’t want to experience the zombie zones for whatever reason, I’m not going to judge. There is a safe path to get out of the park. So on the side where Super Nintendo World is, Amndy Village, Vizing World of Harry Potter, and Universal Wonderland, there is a path that you can walk all the way through Universal Wonderland, and it’ll spit you out at the front of the park, completely bypassing all the zombies. So then that way if you have little explorers with you, they don’t have to be traumatized. But also, if you have little explorers that want to experience it, yeah, cool. Go for it. I know when I was that young, I would have loved it. Absolutely loved it. What a wonderful time of year. It’s nice and cool right now. Well, cooler than what it was. I’m in good spirits.
