8:35 am ET – Men’s 400 Meter (Semi-Final)
8:05 am ET – Women’s 400 Meter (Semi-Final)
Anticipation is building for the Women’s 400 Meter (Semi-Finals). American superstar Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone will be featured in Heat 3.
Heat 1 competition is on deck!
In the early stages it appeared the reigning Olympic and World Champion Marileidy Paulino would advance with authority, but a late burst saw Natalia Bukowiecka (Poland) edge her at the line with a winning mark of 49.67.
Paulino hung on to second for her big Q advancing effort of 49.82.
American Isabella Whittaker is in the line-up for the upcoming Heat 2.
The top ranked athlete in the world (for 2025) Salwa Eid Naser wins decisively with a 49.47 mark. Naser started with authority in lane 5 making up the stagger on Whittaker (lane 6) within the first 100m. On cruise control Naser eased up with about 40m to go and now looks ahead to the finals.
Goméz secures second and also moves on with her 49.78 performance. Whittaker was next through the line, finishing third in 50.20.
The final 400m Semi-Final Heat is upcoming with McLaughlin-Levrone.
Contesting the race in lane 8 and as the 3rd fastest athlete this year in the 400, McLaughlin-Levrone looked comfortable, relaxed and it proved to never be in doubt with her dominant showing of 48.29.
Her time represents a new U.S. 400 meter record!
Great Britain’s Amber Anning records a 49.38 mark for second and will also advance.
Jamaica’s Nickisha Pryce posts a 49.46 time for third place in the heat.
8:00 am ET – Men’s Hammer Throw (Final)
Men’s Hammer Throw (Final) competition is now underway.
7:40 am ET – Men’s 110 Meter Hurdles (Semi-Final)
On deck are the Men’s 110 Meter Hurdles (Semi-Finals) with advancement criteria being the first 2 of each heat (Q) plus the 2 fastest times (q) qualify to the Final. There are 3 scheduled heats.
Jamaica’s Bennett wins in 13.27 with Llopis taking second in 13.29.
Dylan Beard, representing the USA, is back in fourth place at 13.31 and will need to wait to see what transpires in the upcoming heats.
Cordell Tinch, competing out of lane 4, starts strongly and holds on to win the heat in 13.16. Jason Joseph (Switzerland) also moves on with his 13.18 second place effort.
Here comes the third and final heat.
Notably, it has been announced that Dylan Beard will not be moving on following the results recorded from the second heat.
Grant Holloway will be running in lane 8 for Heat 3.
What a finish to the 110m Semi-Finals!
Tyler Mason (Jamaica) wins it and moves on with momentum. He goes 13.12 for the win.
To the delight of the home crowd, Japan’s Muratake claims second in 13.17 with Ja’Kobe Tharp finishing third and gaining the small q entry into the finals with a 13.19 performance.
Grant Holloway fades to sixth place in the heat with a time of 13.52.
7:35 am ET – Men’s High Jump (Final)
Men’s High Jump (Final) competition is now underway.
6:40 am ET – Women’s Triple Jump (Qualification)
Women’s Triple Jump (Qualification) competition is now underway.
6:35 am ET – Men’s 800 Meter (Heats)
Day 4 (Evening Session) competition is set to commence in less than 30-minutes with seven Heats of the Men’s 800 Meters.
Advancement criteria is the first 3 of each heat (Q) plus the 3 fastest times (q) qualify to the Semi-Final Round.
We’re now underway and it was a good one in the first Heat. Barroso (1:44.94), Sedjati (1:45.01) and Haingura (145.02) all earn the coveted big Q’s and will move on to the Semi-Finals.
Defending World Champion Marco Arop of Canada is in the field for Heat 2.
Arop hangs on at the line to secure third place in 1:45.39 and will advance. Attaoui won the heat in 1:45.23 and Loti from Kenya claims the runner-up spot.
Cooper Lutkenhaus is next up in Heat 3!
A pedestrian 53.7 opening lap for the field of 9 competitors.
Wyderka from Poland turns it up late to cross the line first in 1:46.30. While he won’t move on, Lutkenhaus gained invaluable experience with his trip to the World Championships as a 16-year-old. The Texan took 7th place in 1:47.68.
Heat 4 is next with one of the featured athletes being American Bryce Hoppel.
Hoppel wants to control the early going, as he moves up to the front immediately.
Hoppel sticking to the rail on his second lap, still up front, but it’s Cian McPhillips (Ireland) who kicks late to win the heat in 1:44.91.
Hoppel secures second place in 1:45.09 to safely move on and Jamaica’s Tyrice Taylor takes the final auto-qualifying placement, taking third in 1:45.13.
In Heat 5 we’ll see one of the pre-event favorites Emmanuel Wanyonyi.
Wanyonyi, who likes to lead, wastes no time in leading the field. A little jostling amongst the field late, but it’s Wanyonyi, as expected, pulling away late to advance decisively with a mark of 1:45.05.
Pernici (145.11) and English (1:45.13) lock up the other big Q’s finishing second and third, respectively.
The penultimate heat for the men’s 800 was a fast one.
It took a sub-1:45 to ensure advancement out of Heat 6.
Great Britain native Max Burgin gets the job done, winning in 1:44.73 with Masalela of Botswana and Jamaica’s Anderson emerging in the ultra-competitive field with second and third place marks of 1:44.74 and 1:44.87, respectively.
Here comes Heat 7, the final of the opening round heats with Donavan Brazier set to line-up!
We expect a fast one to close the 800m heats.
Brazier looking composed is in the fourth position after 1-lap. There’s some inadvertent contact amongst members of the lead group during lap 2, but thankfully everyone stays upright.
It’s Brazier, the 2019 World Champion, who pulls away late to win the heat with his 1:44.66 finishing time.
Moula takes second in 1:44.77 and Bloudek occupies the third position in 1:44.78.
A great race to cap off the 800 Meter Heats.
