10 Best Matcha Cafes in Japan πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ | Uji, Kyoto, and Nara Matcha Tour (Filmed on DJI Pocket 3)

hey it’s gay hope you’re feeling cute today today I’m taking you on a matcha adventure to Japan with 10 different matcha places that we tried and loved on a recent Japan trip so let’s go drink matcha till our blood turns green first up we’re heading to uji Kyoto which others refer to as the matcha capital of [Music] Japan no for its stunning scenery and Rich culture and the heaven for matcha lovers from traditional tea ceremonies to Modern matcha and fuse streets matcha is everywhere in uji we’re talking Macha latte ice cream cakes and even Savory dishes like matcha takoyaki and we’re going to try all of that today so let’s get into it first thing we’re going to try is the matcha takuaki I know what you’re thinking girl what okay hear me out it’s not as bad as you think it is this is a unique Twist on a classic japanese snack the Savory takayaki topped with a Sprinkle of matcha powder and a drizzle of matcha sauce is a surprisingly tasty combination the matcha salt and toppings really added a unique flavor to this [Music] takoyaki it’s really good to try once in a while but if you ask me if I will choose this over Savory takuaki probably not next is the matcha GZA I’m not lying when I tell you that this is actually good the Savory filling combined with a subtle matcha flavor creates a surprisingly good taste if you’re someone who is adventurous for food you should definitely try this one spicy next is the Machel late from Masuda Tea Store Kyoto [Music] [Music] we got a creamy machal lat that was perfect for a cozy [Music] afternoon seven solid seven I think this is more on the street side of Macha which I like request but it’s nice it’s good [Music] and we also got to try the sweet matcha drink that is less creamy than a Macha latte I would compare this to a Buco or coconut juice refresher in the Philippines it’s only 300 and it’s so good it’s like lemon in the Philippines or bua juice it’s really good and refreshing next up is maroi oh my God what did you get I got we’re going to try this Dango with three levels of CHA we have the first one which is CA next the matcha and lastly the hicha despite the fact that these teas all came from Japan and they share the same origin matcha hicha and ssha are really different in terms of their production taste and caffeine level [Music] next we headed to this confectionary store with a lot of matcha [Music] goodies first thing we had was this heavenly matcho soft cream with green tea Boro it was a creamy soft sered ice cream with sweet matcha flavor and it goes well with the soba Boro cookie and [Music] Crunchies M ice cream 8 over 10 and it’s not too sweet and overpowering it’s spicy it’s not too spicy with the cookies 10 with the cookies 10 I also tried the Macha kohaku cider this is a unique beverage that combines the refreshing qualities of soda with the earthy flavors of matcha and the sweetness of kohaku kohaku is a traditional Japanese candy known for its beautiful colors and sweet taste and of course we also had to try their Machel latte Machel latte still over 10 for me this store also had a Cozy Cafe with intimate seating here you can watch the chef prepare the matcha treats right before your eyes and it is such a unique EXP experience and we were also very intrigued about the uji exclusive matcha treats I ordered the matcha Mont plun and Carl ordered the matcha drink set I’ve never had monl before so I was very surprised the matcha paste was surprisingly Savory and it complemented the sweetness of the ice cream and other treats inside the Mont Blan it was a bit too much for one person so I shared it with [Music] Carl this is the last Macho place that we tried in uji but we have more places to visit in Kyoto I really wish I bought matcha powders here but with so many delicious matcha treats I got a bit sidetracked and forgot to look for it but of course that’s just one more excuse to come back to uji and explore its matcha offerings [Music] again now let’s go to a matcha place that we found in Kyoto near nanaka this Cafe is famous for their moose cloud cake and drink set so of course we had to try that first to know if it’s worth the hype [Music] I ordered the Moose cloud cake and hicha set and Carl ordered the Moose cloud cake Machel latte set it looks so adorable and it tastes so good too I love my matcha but hicha has that naughty chocy taste that I’ve been loving a lot lately we came at a perfect time because there were a few people dining in this Cafe and we got to enjoy a peaceful afternoon and also take cute pictures [Music] the last matcha place that I want to share with you is Salon nari in n [Music] Salon naachi is a traditional Japanese tea house located in this historic narachi district of Nara Japan if you want strong matcha and authentic tea drinking experience this is the place to visit in Nara you can participate in a traditional tea ceremony and learn the intricate rituals and art of preparing matcha or you can just simply relax and enjoy a variety of matcha based drinks and desserts in a beautifully decorated tea room I ordered the Mochi matcha a fugato with iced Machel latte set and I loved it so much the sweetness of the ice I cream really balances out the earthy and slightly bitter taste of the matcha and the Mochi goes so well with it too Carl on the other hand felt a little adventurous that day so he tried the stronger matcha [Music] drink it was too strong for me but if you’re someone who enjoyed that strong Kake of matcha you should definitely add this to your list of matcha places to try [Music] I stay on the 3,200 well that’s are up for our matcha Adventure whether you’re a Macha lover or just starting to explore you need to add Kyoto and Nara to your itinerary on your next Japan trip I hope you enjoyed this little matcha adventure with me see you on the next video bye almost [Music]
