Mondo Duplantis has added to his impeccable Season by setting the World Record once again, at the 2025 Tokyo World Championships, to win gold. On his final attempt at the height, the Swedish athlete cleared 6.30m (20ft-8in) for the first time, barely nudging the bar on his way over.

This achievement marks the fourth time Duplantis has broken his own World Record this Season. He jumped 6.27m for his first World Record of the year in February in France, following that with a 6.28m in Stockholm in June, and then a 6.29m in Budapest this August.

Duplantis may be the most dominant athlete in his specific event in history. This was his 109th consecutive jump over 6.00m, and has gone undefeated since June of 2023. This marks his 5th Outdoor Global Gold Medal, 8th including Indoor World Championships.
