Orix announced pitcher Ryuhei Sotani underwent an examination at a hospital in Osaka City and was diagnosed with a chest contusion. In the second inning, with two outs and runners on first and second, Soya was hit directly in the chest by Umino’s broken bat, collapsed on the spot, and was carried to the back of the bench on a stretcher.

He was taken to the hospital in a trainer’s car during the game, and returned to the stadium after being examined. Fortunately, his injuries appear to have been minor, and he plans to participate in practice from the 15th onwards, depending on his condition. Soya himself emphasized that his injuries were minor, saying, “I was chasing the ball and couldn’t see the bat. I was lucky. I’m fine.”
