Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi (34), who is embroiled in a controversy over his personal life, will not attend the 30th Busan International Film Festival.
The Busan International Film Festival said on the 15th, “We inform you that the ‘Final Piece’ press conference was inevitably canceled due to the guest’s circumstances. We will inform you again about the schedule and interviews that will be held later.”
“Final Piece” is a work about tracking the mystery of a murder case based on a traditional Japanese organ called “Shogi.” It made a movie of the best-selling novel “Sunflower of Rebel,” which won the second prize at the 2018 Japanese Bookstore Awards, and drew high expectations as Ken Watanabe, a Japanese national actor, and Kentaro Sakaguchi, who also gained popularity in Korea, starred in the movie.
Initially, lead actors Ken Watanabe and Kentaro Sakaguchi decided to participate in media interviews as well as attending the Busan International Film Festival, but it was canceled.
This seems to be the decision in the aftermath of Kentaro Sakaguchi’s recent “two-legged scandal.”
Earlier, Japanese entertainment media “Juju Moonchun” reported that Kentaro Sakaguchi is living with stylist A, who is three years older, in an apartment in Tokyo. In addition, it was reported that Kentaro Sakaguchi was in a triangular relationship with actress May Nagano.

Nagano May caused a great controversy when she was found to have an affair with married actor Kei Tanaka in April, adding to the shock.
In response, Kentaro Sakaguchi’s agency admitted living with A, but did not disclose his position on both legs with May Nagano.
On the other hand, May Nagano’s agency admitted that “he once dated Kentaro Sakaguchi,” but insisted that “he did not know A’s existence.”
Kentaro Sakaguchi, born in 1991, debuted in the 2014 film Shanti Days 365 Days, Happy Breath. Since then, he has been active in “100th Love with You,” “Tonight, at the Romance Theater” and “10 Years of Remaining Life,” and last year, he appeared as a male lead in the Coupang Play series “Things After Love.”
