unbeatable deals that make it easy to explore for Less we once traveled full-time for 6 months through Europe and Asia on just $50 per person per day and a significant amount of that Adventure took place during the northern hemisphere’s winter so in this video we’re going to share 10 amazing affordable winter travel destinations that won’t break the bank and whether you’re the type who wants to bundle up and explore winter wonderlands or the type who wants to forget it’s even winter we’ve got options for both of you we’re going to cover five cold weather destinations and five warm weather destinations let’s kick things off with one of our favorites Poland during winter Poland transforms into a magical landscape where its Charming Countryside gets draped in white snow and its picturesque cities come alive with seasonal festivities and warm inviting atmospheres Poland is Europe’s ninth largest country so it offers a ton of diversity in activities and sites you can head to the stunning tatra mountains or the sudes where you can enjoy skiing snowy hikes and so can breathtaking winter scenery make your way to beautiful polish towns like krakov V and Gdansk to explore festive Christmas markets in December and other winter festivals and concerts throughout the winter season and don’t miss a day trip to aitz beer Canal to learn reflect and honor the millions who suffered during the Holocaust we spent around 10 days in Poland and a lot surprised us including just how much we loved the food in Poland arguably some of the best and cheapest food we’ve had in Europe polish Cuisine is hearty and comforting and honestly perfect to enjoy during cold winter months Poland is incredibly affordable with low costs for accommodations meals and public transportation making it one of Europe’s best value destinations for travelers on a budget another great European country to visit during this time of year is the Czech Republic or czechia often blanketed in snow and its Ci’s exuding seasonal charm winter in czechia promises an unforgettable Journey filled with holiday spirit and enchanting Beauty czechia has a lot to offer for its tiny footprint magical Christmas markets in cities like Prague and chesky krumlov are must visit destinations filled with festive lights traditional foods and handcrafted gifts that capture the holiday spirit for those seeking Adventure the nearby Kona and yesen mountains provide excellent skiing opportunities perfect for both beginners and experienced skiers alike after a day on the slopes unwind in one of the country’s famous spot towns like kovi ver where you can indulge in soothing thermal bats and wellness treatments a perfect way to relax and warm up from a day out in the mid 20s temperatures you’ll find during this time of year we were very comfortable in czechia on our daily $50 per person per day budget we’re going to hop around a bit and provide an option not in Europe Quebec City can be quite affordable to visit especially compared to other major North American destinations accommodations dining and activities often offer good value for various budget ranges a stroll through the Charming cobblestone streets of old Quebec reveals beautifully lit historic buildings adorned with festive decorations be sure to visit the hotel de gloss an extraordinary Ice Hotel showcasing its magical winter atmosphere best of events stunning snow covered architecture and a wealth of outdoor activities while daily cost may be a bit higher in Quebec City versus some of the cheaper Eastern European destinations mentioned you will be able to save on airfare due to this being a much closer destination to the USA another great winter destination Hungary Hungary is a hidden gym for budget conscious Travelers offering stunning architecture and a vibrant culture at a fraction of the cost of most Western European cities with his cozy cafes and festive holiday markets you can enjoy a magical winter experience without breaking the bank Hungary is known as the land of waters and it has over, 1500 thermal Springs throughout the country relax in budapest’s famous thermal baths where you can enjoy warm mineral Rich water surrounded by stunning architecture our personal favorite is the seeni bats Budapest also offers a ton of great museums and the stunning Parliament building you can tour to help warm up throughout the day again you’re going to find vibrant Christmas markets throughout the country perfect for sampling traditional eats sipping mold wine and finding unique gifts for adventure the mattra and buuk mountains offer excellent skiing and snowboarding for all skill levels don’t miss exploring the renowned wine regions of AAR and toai where you can Savor Exquisite wines including the famous toai dessert wine nothing more cozy than a wine seller similar to Poland Nick and I loved Hungarian Cuisine warming meals like goulash and stuffed cabbage are perfect to warm you up during the low 30 temperatures during the winter months all right our last winter destination recommendation Bulgaria Bulgaria offers excellent opportunities for winter sports amidst stunning Mountain Landscapes likely our top recommended place to have an affordable ski trip in Europe along with its stunning natural beauty Bulgaria offers Rich cultural traditions and vibrant celebrations highlighted perfectly during the winter season Bulgaria features world class ski resorts in the picturesque Balkan Mountains offering affordable lift passes and accommodations the top destinations are bonso known for its vast ski area and Lively nightlife and borets the oldest ski resort in Bulgaria set in the rela mountains Beyond skiing Bulgaria’s Rich folklore comes alive in Winter festivals like serva where masked CER dancers chase away evil spirits visitors can also unwind in the country’s famous thermal bath with breathtaking Mountain views a quintessential Bulgarian weather finally here are five great affordable destinations to escape the cold this winter starting with quite possibly our favorite country sorry Italy Thailand Thailand is an excellent destination to visit December through February because during this period the country experiences its dry season which means more Sunshine lower humidity and very little rain which is ideal for exploring the country’s vibrant cities beaches and cultural sites flying to Bangkok to experience its vibrant streets stunning temples like watt aun and the Grand Palace and Lively night markets if you’re visiting in January or February you might catch Chinese New Year which lights up Chinatown with Festive Celebrations then head to the coast for the Serene beaches of rabby or puket we spent 30 days in Thailand in 2022 and we were surprised by how much we loved puket especially with its night markets in the old town and the boat tour around the pp Islands you absolutely cannot miss Chang ma in the northern part of the country this is where Nick and I spent most of our time while in Thailand this City offers a great mix of culture nature and relaxation with beautiful temples Lush mountains vibrant night markets cheap Time Massages I could go on and on Winter’s also the perfect time to visit because the Chang ma flower festival will be in full swing January through February it’s a stunning celebration of Thailand’s floral diversity and talk about affordable you can enjoy delicious food for1 to2 us per meal we weren’t even trying to travel cheaply here and our daily budget tended to average $50 to $60 we could have spent way less we cannot wait to get back to Thailand staying in Southeast Asia Vietnam is another great destination to consider this winter its cities are vibrant with life offering a Rich Blend of ancient temples bustling markets and mouthwatering street food this is juxtaposed with some of Asia’s most breathtaking Landscapes and natural beauty start your journey in Hanoi where you can explore ancient temples Street Markets and Scenic Lakes make your way to the iconic halang Bay for a stunning cruise through Limestone Islands a must do during the winter when the weather is calm and the views are breathtaking further south hoian City offers a vibrant Urban experience with a mix of friend Colonial architecture historic War museums and a lively nightlife head to the beaches of Danang or fuak for warm sunny days ideal for sunbathing and water sports during this season Vietnamese cities come alive with festivals like tet the Lunar New Year celebration which brings   1. Just a heads up that Bulgaria and Hungary are not open countries. There are stories of travelers having had their phones searched and also stripped searched while being questioned on their sexual orientation and political affiliations.

  2. Budapest is amazing, Krakow is beautiful. Auschwitz is a must visit once in your life, yet not recommended with kids under 12-14 depending on the child.

  3. I love Quebec city, but it is one of the more expensive and touristy cities in Canada. It does have the best Winter Carnival in the world though!
