For many anime fans, collecting toys and figures of beloved characters is as much a passion as watching the actual series. Now, one of Japan’s biggest hobby goods retailers, AmiAmi, has released its official figure reservation rankings for August 2025, showcasing which collectibles are currently commanding the most attention among fans.
Per PR Times, the rankings cover all figures that became available for pre-order between Aug. 1 and Aug. 31, 2025, compiled based on AmiAmi’s internal data, which includes the total number of reservations and sales figures, providing a clear snapshot of the most in-demand collectibles among Japanese fans. In a surprise to some, a Bulma figurine from the iconic Dragon Ball Z took the number one spot.

The Bulma figurine from manufacturer MegaHouse was re-released for the first time in about 10 years. It depicts the Capsule Corp heir on her signature motorcycle. Scheduled for release in late January 2026, the merch is priced at 8,580 yen (approx. US$58). The rest of the top five comes from largely modern interests rather than legacy franchises. Taking the second spot is Natsume Shiki from the visual novel Cafe Stella and the Reaper’s Butterfly, while the horse-racing series Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray gallops into third place with a figure of Oguri Cap and the original character Rena from the Kuusou JK Series comes at number five.
Fan-favorite characters from popular anime franchises also made their mark, with Roxy from the hit isekai anime Moshoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation coming in at fourth place. Further down the list, Ryuko Matoi from the Studio Trigger classic Kill la Kill claimed the 13th spot, while Marin Kitagawa from My Dress Up Darling, in her Halloween Bunny figure, appeared in 16th. The mobile game Blue Archive showed particular dominance, landing three different characters in the top 20.
Meanwhile, fans in the United States have a rare opportunity to acquire exclusive merchandise more immediately. For the first time, Japan’s official Shonen Jump Shop is hosting a pop-up event in the U.S., located at Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, California. Running from Sep. 6 to Oct. 5, the shop offers American fans a chance to purchase a wide variety of goods, including items from Dragon Ball, One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen and Kaiju No. 8, that are typically difficult to find outside Japan.
