JAPAN 2025 Retro OSAKA Walking Tour 🌸 Shinsekai & Tsutenkaku | 4K HDR
JAPAN 2025 Retro Shinsekai Walking Tour 🌃 Tsutenkaku Tower & Hidden Osaka Streets | 4K HDR POV Hi, I’m Ami 🌸
This is Part 2 of my Osaka walking-tour series No talking, no music —
just calm ambient sounds Perfect for study & focus Today:
Shinsekai & Tsutenkaku Tower Ready to relax? Welcome to Shinsekai 🌸
Tsutenkaku is waiting up ahead! We’re stepping into Shinsekai, Osaka’s ‘New World’ district created in the early 1900s The tower you see is Tsutenkaku, built as a symbol of the future And that golden figure is Billiken — Osaka’s lucky charm This area has always been about food, fun, and lively street life Feels like the 60s —
so retro ✨ This part of Shinsekai is famous for kushikatsu — deep-fried skewers of meat and vegetables The dish started here in the 1920s as cheap food for workers, and now it’s one of Osaka’s street food classics Osaka means kushikatsu! 🍢 The smell of fried skewers
is everywhere Takoyaki — fried octopus balls are Osaka’s signature street food Shops use huge octopus signs like this to grab attention. It’s fun, bold, and pure Osaka style Last time we saw a crab 🦀…
now an octopus 🐙 What do you think comes next? Link to Part 1 is popping up now 🌸 Tokyo Osaka Street Food Walking Tour 🍣 Kuromon Market & Dotonbori | 4K HDR POV Osaka is famous for its oversized 3D restaurant signs. First the giant crab of Dotonbori, now a huge octopus for takoyaki — the city loves bold and playful advertising. There it is —
Zuboraya, the legendary fugu spot 🐡 Would you dare
to try fugu fish? This giant blowfish sign belongs to Zuboraya, one of Osaka’s most iconic fugu restaurants. It opened over a hundred years ago and closed in 2020, but the facade remains as a symbol of Shinsekai’s food culture. The original Tsutenkaku was built in 1912, inspired by the Eiffel Tower, but it was dismantled during WWII. The current tower was reconstructed in 1956 and stands 103 meters tall. Today, it’s a beloved symbol of Osaka. Cranes and flowers here symbolize good luck, beauty, and long life — everyday streets turn into a gallery. The streets are opening up —
stepping out of retro Shinsekai. This part of the walk feels different — less crowded, with more space and traffic lights. It’s the transition from the retro heart of Shinsekai toward the Naniwa district. Ebisucho Station on the Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line brings you right to Shinsekai. From here, it’s just a short walk to Tsutenkaku Tower and the retro alleys. In Osaka,
the traffic lights take forever… Right now, a bike would be great,
but back then it was a hassle to film. 🙂 Heading into a busier crossing —
shops starting to pop up everywhere. This area leads toward Nipponbashi, one of Osaka’s main shopping districts. Crossroads like this connect local streets to the bigger shopping arcades. Lawson is one of Japan’s big convenience-store chains (konbini). You can grab onigiri, hot snacks, drinks, use the ATM, even pay bills. Bike parking out front is super common in Osaka. We’re walking under a covered arcade. This block is under renovation, so you see white temporary panels and safety cones along the sidewalk. Even the street pillars carry anime-style ads — a typical sight around Nipponbashi. Do you watch anime?
Let me know in the comments! Not every street is flashy or touristy. This part shows Osaka’s daily rhythm — practical shops, parked cars, and people just going about their routines. Look! Real-life Mario Kart! 🏎️
I want too! In Osaka (and Tokyo), tourists can rent go-karts and drive them through the streets, often dressed as anime or game characters. It’s a quirky attraction that makes the city even more playful. Let’s see
how they do driving… This is Nipponbashi — also called Den Den Town, Osaka’s version of Akihabara. The street is lined with electronics shops, anime and manga stores, and maid cafés. It’s a paradise for gamers, collectors, and pop culture fans We’re almost at the castle. I can already feel
the park vibe. And next time… we’ll leave Shinsekai’s neon behind
and step into the quiet majesty of Osaka Castle 🏯 Part 3: Tokyo Osaka Castle Walking Tour 🏯 Moat & Otemon Gate | Sleep Sounds • Meditation Ambience Imagine walking along the moonlit moat,
through Otemon Gate and into the gardens… Thanks for spending this walk with me.
See you in the next travel 🌸
