Japan travel – Hakone day trip itinerary
Traveling from Tokyo to Hakone was a bit of a challenge. My guest house to Taya guest house was cozy, clean, and instantly fell in love. I used the Hakone free pass. First stop, the ropeway from Gora to Sonzan to Ourodani. The view from the top was amazing. The cute little Japanese kids in front of me were adorable. Reminded me Ponyo. Then I rode the pirate ship across the lake from Oakodani to Togendai and stopped at Bakery and Table. I had mochi roll and matcha latte with the sparkling lake view. I also visited Hakone shrine. The Tory E gate line was super long, so I just snapped a photo and moved on. In rural Hakone, Google Maps isn’t always reliable for buses. Apple Maps worked better. ended the day with a convenience store dinner and a relaxing soak in the onset.
