Explora Journeys will sail in Asia for the first time beginning in September 2027, with key homeports in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai.

Sailing the continent will be the Explora III, debuting next August, which will be positioned in Asia from fall 2027 through the spring of 2028.

Destinations include nine countries total: Japan, China, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore. There will be 18 itineraries, which will range in from seven to 14 nights.

“Asia is, quite frankly, irresistible for a brand such as ours,” said North America president Chris Austin. “It offers a kaleidoscope of cultures, traditions and landscapes that align beautifully with our philosophy of slower, more meaningful exploration.”

He named Japan’s fall foliage and cherry blossom and Golden Week in China as itinerary highlights.

Having a variety of seven-day itineraries is of strategic importance to the brand “to attract the working affluent,” he said.

Explora V will debut in Europe and sail the Arabian Peninsula

While the Explora III is in Asia, the Explora V will make its debut in Europe and then sail the Arabian Peninsula. Deploying ships in different regions simultaneously “is absolutely central to our strategy,” Austin said.

“As our fleet grows, you can expect us to continue this approach, offering new regions, more choice in journey length and deeper ways to connect with destinations,” Austin said.
