Summer in Osaka 🇯🇵 Godzilla Omamori, Michelin Ramen, Fireworks Festival & a bit of Kobe

Hello! We’re in Osaka for a few days, with a pit stop at Kobe Checking in at the hotel now.
We’re staying at Tones Osaka. This is quite spacious in Japan’s standard Good value for money And it’s quiet here. I love it The pjs are comfy! We’re on the way to buy the Godzilla omamori
(Japanese good luck charm) The shrine is located in Umeda so it’s easy to access The Godzilla omamori is a highly sought-after item It is only for sale during certain time on weekends (mind your head!) There are two shrines with the same name Make sure you include Otabisha when looking it up Because we’re at the wrong one! Fortunately the right one is really close by These are so nice Been trying to get this for years and I finally got it! We’re now in Momodani for lunch Checking out this Michelin recommended ramen They offer lots of options, but we’ll be going with shoyu (soy sauce) Apron is provided in case you slurp too hard Love this soda! And here we go – it looks great I got the special shoyu ramen so there are 5 pieces of charsiu (bbq pork) This is by far one of the best eggs I’ve ever had in my life
(!!!) I definitely recommend this place, just for the egg alone Thank you for the food! Breathtaking view during the golden hour We’re now at the food hall of the Hankyu department store Getting my fix for a really popular pork bun There are many 551 Horai stores throughout Kansai,
but not in Tokyo You should give it a try if you ever run into one These tulip cookies look great too Fresh juice with fruits from different provinces of Japan We’re getting this Summer-exclusive Osaka muscat juice It is delicious – a naturally sweet flavor Heading back to the hotel as quick as we possibly can For our pork buns! We got this at the JR station It’s sweet potato apple pie from Lapoppo Sweetened and regular flavour Instant onion soup with cute packaging.
We’ll try this when we get home. This is one of the wagashi (Japanese confectionery)
I buy everytime I’m here It’s basically sweetened grapes Let’s eat one now They recommend you to take the seeds out first We also got the tulip cookies Would’ve loved to try the matcha flavour as well.
But it was sold out. And finally, the 551 pork bun Haha ooops Gonna eat this and rest up for tomorrow. Good morning We’ll be going to Kobe for a day trip.
Let’s get our train tickets. And we’re here! We’ll go get lunch first We are now heading to the restaurant It is about 10 min walk from Sannomiya Station This is my second time going to the Mouriya Honten They have been serving Kobe beef since 1885 Looks amazing! I’ll do a separate video for this restaurant soon. Stay tuned. Taking a stroll after a very satisfying meal We’re now at Center Plaza in Sannomiya There are so many shops for anime/toys/figures Yellow Submarine is a great place to find gacha And a Mandarake too, great for vintage toys A Suguraya store, make sure you come to this #2 shop #1 shop carries a lot of preowned items,
which is great for treasure hunting But #2 shop here sells brand new figures/toys and games Are you into card games? Quite a few shops for trading cards here as well Back on the streets.
We’ll go check out the Kobe Chinatown now. Cute buns! So much food everywhere! The restaurant name references the disciple in
‘Journey to the West’. Pretty cool. More cute buns Hello Bruce Lee? Didn’t expect to see this here, I’ve only seen this in Thailand Shateki game.
A classic Japanese festival feature Gonna head back to Osaka now.
See you next time Kobe. We’ve stumbled upon this lively izakaya in Umeda It has a great score on Google review so here we are It says “two drinks = one ball” Two drinks One ball It is a small and cozy place It could fit about 20 people And it’s very colourful Love from all over the world 10 yen off if you take a photo with the manager? Oh it’s because of this Google review… saying the food is great but the manager is ugly I’m here to show that it’s not about the look It’s about the energy – and I love it! We got an okonomiyaki, in original flavour With lots of green onion And a yakisoba, which was pretty good And it’s gluten-free Thank you for the food Trying our luck at this two-storey gacha place before calling it a day It is probably the second biggest one in Umeda apart from the huge #C-pla store Good morning.
What a beautiful sunny day. We’ll take it easy before our journey to the fireworks festival in Sennan We need a slushy to cool down.
It’s so hot today. Trying the pineapple and orange one And voila! After an hour from Umeda we have arrived.
It’s absolutely packed! It’s about 15 mins to walk to the venue from Tarui station You are recommended to buy tickets early for firework festivals We got ours a month in advance There was some sort of drone show But we were late so we couldn’t see the whole thing We made it! Love the atmosphere here.
Now we need to get to our seats Finally seated. It is indeed quite a view. Yeaaah. Love this song. The finale is pretty epic I must say. I hope this isn’t too loud for you. Everyone leaving all at once We’ll go back to the station and take the train back to the city There are only 2 ticket gates on each side so it’s moving quite slow Back in Umeda. Going to do a convenience store run before going back to our room I want to buy everything to be honest. Ok we got bowl ramen. Quite excited for this. They look pretty good. Good day!
We’ll walk around the city before going to the airport. Post boxes get a makeover here.
Pretty cool design. I have been to Nintendo stores before,
but not the Osaka one This one is located in the Daimaru in Umeda Within the building there are also Tokyu Hands,
Pokemon Center Uniqlo, Tomica shop, and a great food hall Be prepared to shop when you’re here! I used to play Animal Crossing so much during peak Covid.
I actually kind of miss it. The detail on this is absolutely crazy. You never know what you’re gonna get
with food display in Japan This retro game store in Denden Town
has a lot of good stuff You must come here if you’re into this.
So many gems. It is called the Super Potato Retrokan on Ota Road On the way to Kansai Airport now. I’ll do a few more videos about the restaurants I enjoyed here. There will be yakitori, teppanyaki, and omurice! Thank you for staying with me until the end.
Hope you have enjoyed this one. See you next time!
