Nagoya Is Not Boring – 7 Things You Can Do In Nagoya πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅

Whenever people come to Japan, they always talk about three different cities. Tokyo, Osaka, or Kyoto. And there’s one city everyone’s sleeping on, and that is Nagagoya. In this video, I’m going to give you a bunch of reasons why you need to come to Nagagoya on your next Japan trip. Let’s go. [Music] Let’s start with something iconic. Nagagoya Castle. This place dates back to the 1600s and it is absolutely stunning. The castle itself is a museum that gives a deep dive into the history of Nagagoya and the castle. And outside the castle, they frequently have food stalls where you can try local Nagagoya food. And if you can, I suggest visiting on the weekdays because, as you can see in this video, the weekends around Nagagoya Castle are very busy. To enter the Nagagoya Castle grounds, it costs just 500 in for adults. For that reason alone, it is an absolute must visit. Next up, if you’re traveling with kids or you’re just a big kid at heart, Legoland Japan is a must. It’s a full-on theme park packed with rides, shows, and even aquarium all themed around Lego. What I love the most, it’s way less crowded than places like Tokyo Disneyland or Universal Studios. You can actually enjoy the park without waiting an hour in line for everything. That alone is a win. The food’s super fun, too. Think Lego shaped burgers, fries, colorful slushies, and my personal favorite, apple fries. Super good. And don’t miss where they’ve recreated famous spots from all over Japan out of Legos. Some of the Lego builds are insanely detailed. Oh, and yeah, they totally did this one. Tourists dirty. If you’re looking for a fun, chill theme park day, Legoland Japan is 100% worth the stop. Train lovers, this one’s for you. The SC MagLive and Railway Park is a museum that showcases Japan’s legendary Shinkansen, including the not yet operational SC MagLive. You can get into simulators, check out retired trains, and learn how Japan built the fastest trains in the world. You can also create tickets with your name on it. This museum is legitimately interesting and worth a visit at least once. Next is the famous Nagagoya City Science Museum, which is home to one of the largest planetariums in the world. And beyond that, the whole museum is filled with hands-on exhibits where you can play, experiment, and learn about everything from electricity to weather patterns. There’s even a section where you can experience an artificial tornado, a deep freeze room set at -30 Celsius, and a real life earthquake simulator. It’s educational, but it’s also just really fun. Japan loves aquariums, and Nagagoya has one of the best. At the Port of Nagagoya Public Aquarium, you’ll find massive tanks with beluga whales, cute little turtles, jellyfish, and much more. There are exhibits that cover everything from orcas to penguins. The dolphin performances low-key blew my mind. You can spend an entire afternoon here. They also had these retro diving suit displays that are apparently popular here and have their own weird and very cute merch. Now, let’s talk about food because Nagagoya has some of the best local food in Japan. First is the miso katsu. Think regular deep fried pork cutlet but covered in a rich red miso sauce. It’s a must try. Next up is Hitsu Mabushi. This is Nagagoya’s famous grilled eel dish that draws long lines at almost all Hitsumabushi restaurants around Nagagoya station. The grilled eel is served over rice traditionally in a wooden container. You can eat it three different ways. Plain with toppings or poured over with a broth. And lastly is teasaki. These are Nagagoya style chicken wings that are crispy, peppery, and sometimes even sweet. Perfect with a cold beer. And the last of what I think is the most fun thing you can do out here in Nagagoya is of course the night life. I’ve already done a video guide on all the different nightclubs out here in Nagria, but there’s a lot of great options. And tonight I’m DJing at T2 Nagria, which is one of the more popular and international nightclubs out here. This nightclub has four different floors, one of which plays a lot of Brazilian and Latino music, another has K-pop, another has Japanese hip-hop, and on the main floor is where you can find EDM, and also where I will be DJing tonight. This club rocks. If you’re looking for a foreign friendly nightclub, T2 Naga is definitely my recommendation for you. So, next time you’re planning your Japan trip, don’t just rush through Naguya on the bullet train. Stop, stay a night or two, explore, eat, and don’t forget to party. This city has way more going on than people give it credit for. Hit like if you found a new reason to visit Naguya, and don’t forget to subscribe for more Japan nightlife content. Until next time, V is

  1. Out of Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Kyoto and Kanazawa, we agreed that Nagoya was the best city for us. I absolutely loved it, especially the castle!

Edit: And let's not forget the Octoberfest we stumbled upon there, in July?! Seeing Japanese people in lederhosen was not on my bucketlist.

  2. Yo! Your content is sick.

Are you using a DJI Osmo 3? I originally thought your stuff had a dedicated camerman, but I think you are just expertly managing your shots your self after I watched a few vids.

    I'll keep watching πŸ™‚
