The 19th “Oku-Hida Workshop on Erosion Control for Young Civil Engineers”, organised by Japan Society of Erosion Control Engineering (SABO) and held from 24 to 26 August 2025 was successfully concluded. It was attended by 77 young engineers, researchers, and students from across Japan. This year’s theme was “Erosion Control in Volcanic Basins.” Set at the foot of the active volcano, Mt. Yakedake, the workshop provided a valuable opportunity to learn about erosion control issues and on-site conditions specific to volcanic regions through lectures, field trips, and sand removal observations.
