EACH STORY Presents Urban Echoes will bring three live performances to Tokyo from October 6 to 9. Organized by the EACH STORY executive committee, which also runs the Nagano-based festival EACH STORY – THE CAMP -, the event highlights international and Japanese artists in unique cultural venues.
The Tokyo run opens on Monday, October 6, with a collaboration between German ECM guitarist Jakob Bro and Japanese percussionist Midori Takada at the Tenshinkai Noh Theater in Omotesando. On Tuesday, October 7, Chicago-based singer-songwriter Gia Margaret makes her Japan debut at the Jiyu Gakuen Myonichikan in Ikebukuro, a site recognized as an Important Cultural Property. The series concludes on Wednesday, October 8, with Dutch multi-instrumentalist Felbm performing his first solo show in Japan at the Ohara Memorial Chapel of the Wesleyan Holiness Church Yodobashi in Okubo.
The performances offer audiences an intimate experience of experimental and contemporary music, connecting international and local perspectives in Tokyo’s historic and cultural spaces.
