We Took a day off for this!

So, we took a day off and drove out to Chiba, which is famous for its seafood. So, for lunch, we stopped at a place called Haraso Honten. And wow, Satoshi ordered the biggest seafood bowl I’ve ever seen. It was literally a mountain of the freshest fish stacked high over sushi rice. He almost could not finish it. We also tried one of the local specialties, minced fish wrapped in pella leaf and grilled. This was super flavorful and something we don’t see often. I went with the sushi of the day set and every single piece was so incredibly fresh. Honestly, this meal was the highlight of our trip to Chiba. Would you guys go for the massive seafood bowl or would you stick with sushi like me? Let me know in the comments.

If you’re visiting Chiba Prefecture, seafood should be at the top of your list — and Hana Sohonten @hanatateyama1965 is a popular spot with locals that delivers on freshness, quality, and atmosphere. Located near the train station, the restaurant is spacious, comfortable, and welcoming, with super friendly service. Prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the seafood you get here.

What makes this place special is that everything is based on what’s fresh that day. Satoshi’s giant seafood bowl is piled high with a mountain of fish that changes depending on the catch, and my sushi of the day set also featured a variety of seasonal fish — including a few I had never tried before. It was not only delicious but also a lot of fun to discover new flavors.
