Vincennes and Knox County are setting their sights on strengthening ties with Japanese companies during an upcoming trade mission to Japan. Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum and Knox County Indiana Economic Development CEO Chris Pfaff are leaving this week for Japan.

Pfaff says the trip will focus on building and sustaining relationships with Futaba and Excell Corporation, two Japanese firms already invested in the county, while also highlighting Knox County’s central location, affordable costs, strong workforce, and new housing developments.

He says Japanese companies are a great fit for the area’s strengths in advanced manufacturing, agri-business, logistics, and renewable energy — and supporting those already here is a top priority.

Pfaff says the visit is part of a broader strategy to diversify the economy, attract new global partners, and lay the foundation for long-term growth. His message to international business leaders is Knox County is open for business, and ready to be a trusted partner.
