Stumbled on This Mountain Hike in Japan… WOW! [Mt. Daibosatsu]
[Music] Staying alive. Staying alive. Let’s keep going. [Music] I got a question. Where do you decide to go on a trip? You got time off. Where are you going to go? [Music] Do you like have a magazine or something? Do you research it on Google? I mean, how do you do it? Let me know. This trip was actually truly random. Don’t even know how we found it to be honest with you. Lucky we did. It was truly amazing. What kind of trips do you go on that’s amazing for you? [Music] For us, when planning a trip, we usually start with an area such as Nagono or Saitama. So, this trip, uh, I never thought about that part of Yamanashi, so I didn’t bother to Google it. I think my wife looked online, some kind of hiking group, um, and found that location. So, It’s a great thing she found it. Well, going to finish my cup of coffee, then we’ll get on the road. Let’s enjoy. Dive Sas is actually one of those ancient trails such as the Nakasendo or Tokaido. These paths were used in the Edeto period to connect the outer regions to Tokyo and then onto the capital at that time, Kyoto. The drive up there isn’t too far from my place or Tokyo. I think that’s why we passed it up. You think going to a nice hike or some great peaks, you’ll need to travel far away, but many places in Japan are really just in your backyard. Well, let’s hit the trail. [Music] This might be the last toilet. I don’t know. There might be one up top. Um, but this might be the last chance to hit the toilet, so make sure you hit that spot if you have to. Okay, there’s also lunch, drinks there, too. Um, they got some warm soup. Wasn’t too bad. I think they said like the biggest one was 600 yen. I think the mini was like 400 yen only. That’s a 2024. Who knows? They change it up. So, let’s keep going up. [Music] It’s very nice. [Music] beach. Not deep yet. We’re at the that last hut um where it breaks off again like I previously out. Just take a look at these views. Just take a look at that. That is just crazy. So, we’re on a ridge line again. So, unfortunately, it’s Sunday, so we can’t let the dogs off the road. Um, if it was a weekday, this probably wouldn’t me. It’s on the ridge so we can get other dogs go, but the kids. So, but we take a break for a second. Um, get some water, get, you know, a little relaxation and we’re going to try to hit one of those peaks up there and see the whole view. Okay. Anyway, let’s take a break. [Music] Not Okay. [Music] So, we hit hit that first peak. Um, took a little break. Here’s a little bit of a time lapse video. That’s overlooking Mount Fuji. In fact, as soon as I turned it off, Mount Fuji showed us I showed her face. So, a little disappointed. Uh, we got two more peaks to head up and then back down to the parking area. And then, uh, by that time, we’re probably pretty hungry. Sorry about the light in the background. But, we’re going to head off this little trail here. Goes along a ridge line. I really wish this weekday I could flow the dogs. And it is very, very crowded today. So weekday is probably not too bad. So let’s get on the trail. See you guys there up those rocks. Um this little peak there. So they did a great job now. Head over. We got a bottle going here. So going to have to push it down off to the next peak. Slow down. [Music] My job. My job. I think this is probably only like the second 2,000 meters. Anyways, um so we got one more to go up then back down again will be another about 55 minutes down on the other side. But to me gain 2,000 m going down. I hope it’s not that rocky is coming up. If not, the dogs are definitely coming off the leash. You can’t go that way. Let’s keep going. Next one. It’s right up there. Stop. [Music] Make sure Good girls. Good girl. I think we’re the last one. So now we’re going to head back down. Right, Jaw? So it’s good. It was a good challenge. So we’re going to go on now. Head back down again. Okay. See you there. After a little investigation, we found out that this place actually isn’t the peak. The peak is actually a little further up, but per reviews, there’s nothing to see. It’s a big wilderness, a big forest with a bunch of trees. So, everyone just kind of maintains that this area is the peak. But, we enjoyed it. We headed back down. I didn’t get much video footage going down. It was kind of difficult with the dogs, but it was still beautiful. [Music] Anyways, this was a great hike. Definitely go on it. See you soon. [Music]

About Us:
I’m Ryan. I came to Japan in 1996 and knew nothing about this country. Now, after building my own company, having 2 great kids (whom are out of the house now) and built 2 houses here in Japan, I have a few things to say about this wonderful country. Mostly I have always loved looking for places in Japan to explore and enjoy during the weekends. But most channels, in Japan, spend too much time talking about things that are self-explanatory. I wanted to make this channel to give you a sample of places where you can go with your dogs. Talk about the plus sides and negative sides of the place. Pointers and tips when you get there. Then you can go out and enjoy those places as well. Sometimes, I even like to add cooking and baking items to our videos.
Along the ride will be our 3 retriever dogs, Bobbi, Lily, and Lucy. They just love going out, seeing the world and hiking Japan’s beautiful trails. It seems every year, more and more places are catering to dog families. Letting our dogs go on these adventures helps them, as well as us, with building a lifestyle that is rewarding.
Come along with us as we travel around Japan and finding these little gem areas and making friends along the way.
On my channel, I’m gonna bring you along on some adventures that I go through but in my viewpoint as American living in Japan.
Some of the strange customs and some of the strange items I’ve seen, especially the food.
Along with my wife and my three dogs, Bobbi Lily and Lucy, we’re gonna go on adventures that most of you probably have never seen in my 2006 Toyota Alphard.
let’s get on the road
