LightSpeed Japan Studio, the team led by Devil May Cry 5 and Dragon’s Dogma director Hideaki Itsuno, has announced the opening of a new Osaka office alongside its Tokyo base. The expansion comes with the recruitment of several well-known Capcom veterans: Bingo Morihashi, Daigo Ikeno, and Gouda Cheese (better known as Bengus).
Morihashi, who previously worked on scenarios for the Devil May Cry and Dragon’s Dogma series, will serve as narrative lead. Ikeno, recognized for his work on Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Street Fighter IV, and multiple Devil May Cry titles, will step into the role of art director. Bengus, famous for shaping the look of Capcom’s 2D fighters such as Darkstalkers and Marvel vs. Capcom, will contribute as art designer.
Currently, LightSpeed Japan Studio houses around 40 developers and is working on what it describes as a “next-generation cross-platform AAA action title” based on an entirely new IP.
The studio is continuing to expand, with open positions available across both its Tokyo and Osaka offices.
