Miu Watanabe is heading to Wrestle Princess 2025.
A competitive 20-minute battle in the 2025 TJPW Tokyo Princess Cup on Saturday went the way of Watanabe, who put away first-time finalist Arisu Endo to win in the main event at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
Watanabe connected with her Teardrop finisher to score a pinfall win against Endo, securing her first-ever Cup trophy and putting her on track for a title fight in a little under a month’s time.
The victory set Watanabe up for a rematch against current TJPW Princess of Princess Champion Mizuki, the woman who ended her first-ever run with the title at the promotion’s annual January 4 Korakuen card earlier this year.
In a post-match angle, Mizuki and Watanabe agreed to a title fight at Wrestle Princess, TJPW’s September 20 event at Ota City General Gymnasium.
Early rounds of the tournament saw Watanabe overcome Raku and Haru Kazashiro. She went 24 minutes against Shoko Nakajima to punch her ticket into the finals.
Commentary noted that Watanabe has now accomplished all major tournaments and titles in TJPW: Princess of Princess Champion, International Princess Champion, Princess Tag Team Champion, Princess Max Heart Tournament, and now the Tokyo Princess Cup.
Endo, who was hoping to score her first-ever singles achievement in TJPW, overcame Hyper Misao, Miyu Yamashita, and Yuki Arai to earn a spot in the finals.
An angle for the promotion’s Princess Tag Team Championships took place in the co-main event, as Wakana Uehara and Yuki Kamifuku challenged incumbent champs Hyper Misao and Shoko Nakajima after earning a pinfall win over them.
Misao and Nakajima accepted the rematch from Wrestlemania weekend, with the English commentary noting that the upcoming bout will be at Wrestle Princess.
Earlier in the show, it was announced that Priscilla Kelly will be in action as part of the upcoming Ota City card. Kelly has worked the indies since her release from WWE earlier this year, where she performed as Gigi Dolin.
The booking is a return for Kelly, who went on three tours with TJPW back in 2018.
The opening bout of the evening saw Juri Suzue, a 12-year-old trainee for idol group Star Planet, win an eight-woman rumble to regain the DDT Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship, the promotion’s 24/7 belt. Suzue dropped the belt just minutes before the match, losing an arm wrestling match to Ram Kaichow. However, minutes later, she won it back in the rumble.
