Hot spring etiquette. How you behave at a hot spring resort in Japan!
We stayed at Okuyunohama Onsen Tatsunoyu in Tsuruoka, Yamagata prefecture overnight on our annual Summer trip.
While here Indians walk around of the resort and I was able to get some bonus video with a rare shot inside the hot tub area.
I did this because a lot of people don’t know how to act at a hot spring and they definitely don’t know what to do once inside the hot tub and shower area.
Also what you should know is that every one of these resorts has a history and you can see it in photos and words somewhere during your stay.

I'm going to have to listen to this again, but really cool video! About the food… (1) The onsen I went to have a nice multi-course breakfast and lunch. (2) Yooo, the Japanese staff thing is interesting. The onsen we went to had some ppl from Nepal there. In my opinion, they were really good. I would say some hotels we went to had Chinese staff, and those workers were noticeably NOT AS NICE as the Japanese ones. (3) I didn't know you can discover history about every ryokan. (4) Must've overlooked being able to drink onsen water 🙁 (5) I don't get the allure of going to an onsen in the summertime. How does it compare to winter/early spring? (6) How do you suggest we figure out which ryokans to stay in?
2 Tips ‼️: (1) Drink lots of water. (2) There’s a difference between private (hotel) & public onsens; single gender & multi-gender. We went to a public dual gender onsen, and people had bathing suits on. Also, no showers at the public onsen.
