Alone in Kyoto 🇯🇵 | Solo Travel in Japan’s Most Beautiful City (July 2025)

[Music] [Music] in. I made a specific [Music] Kyoto is so cute. So so so cute. [Music] We are inside the Kyoto station. [Music] foreign. [Music] [Music] [Music] you for the weekend because I just missed Japan so much. [Music] Don’t worry. [Music] Nari Shrine Mount Inari. Oh, there’s a Mount Inari. I didn’t even know that. [Music] Okay. I did not know there is a mount in AR. I know I should have done my research more, but sometimes I don’t have enough time to make a research. Should I do it? It’s 14 minutes walk. [Music] I love the bamboos that are behind there. It’s very lovely place. I will be back. [Music] I think I’ve walked about 30 minutes up already. Uh I might have like 10 minutes up to go uh to Mount Iner. Um, I don’t know if I should get back now or should I just keep going. It’s getting more inclined. Okay. When I’m up in the mountain, I think it’s going to be worth it. Very convenient. I don’t know how long I still had got to get to the mountain, but this this is a lifesaver. And also, there were there was like public toilets down to that side. And should I get one? Milky sounds delicious right now. And thankfully, I got some coins and some cash because I think this one does not accept cards. I want this one. Oh my gosh, I’m so happy. It’s going to be refreshing. Yes, milk tea. Oh, and I forgot one more thing. You do not drink or eat on the way. Um, you got to finish the food or drink that you bought where you are at and then if they have trash, you can dispose of it. Thankfully, they have a trash can here because they don’t have any trash cans anywhere in Japan. Uh, I’m so happy. I’m going to finish this up and then keep going my journey up to the mountain in Ni. This was not on my itinerary. I was just going to see the shrines and the temple, but I think it’s going to be worth it for me to hike up to the mountain. I haven’t hiking a while since I lived in Colorado, I think. And that’s been about two years ago. I miss it. I’m always going to have the memory of the time that I found a cold drink machine in the middle of and it’s not in the middle of nowhere, but we’re on the way up to the high uh to the mountain in Aran. I’m just so happy it’s right here. I’m so happy. Oh, little. That is the scariest thing I’ve seen on the way. Um, now I’m thinking I should head back. Oh my god, another one. [Music] Oh no. Okay, I’m going to keep going. This place, this part, this part is very, very scary. Okay, I’m thinking of hitting back. Oh my god. All right, I’ll keep going. Can’t do anything against me again. Oh my Oh my gosh. Should I keep going? I’m getting scared. Okay, I think I’m going to Should I quit? All right, so that crow over there just stopped in there and he right in there. Like if I crossed before that, I was going to get on. And uh I think I’m just going to head back. It doesn’t sound right for me to risk it um this size um on my own. And it’s uh you know what? I’m just going to head back. I’m not going to not going to risk it. It’s not worth it for me. Safety first. I don’t even want to look to the sides because I saw what I saw. Those spiders are huge. And I don’t know if they’re maybe they’re not even little, but they look scary as Like, look at them. It’s just not one is so many. They’re all over this. Oh my gosh. I’m going to miss the mountain. I’m sorry. If somebody wants to come with me next time and protect me from the spiders and stuff, then be my guest. But I’m not going to continue the journey on my own. I saw a few signals that I shouldn’t for me. Those are like divine signs the way of uh I don’t know my gut to protect me. And that’s it. I did what I was going to do. I tried. We’ll leave that for next time. I guess it’s because um it’s Japan and I love it and people are Oh sh I got scared of that stick. telling you. Um, should just get out of here. And I trust Japanese people blindly and I feel like found Matthew again, but I can. Thank you, Matthew. He’s showing me that the way is there. My way back is there. I was going to go down this side. I don’t know why. Don’t ask me why, but thanks to Matthew right there. Thank you, birdie. Now I remember this and the way is right there. Thank you. Okay. It’s like my personal guide. Okay. Who in Japan has a personal guide? It’s a beautiful crawl. Can I pass? Is that okay if I pass? Little Matthew. You know why I’m calling him Matthew? Right. Because of the serious descent, man. Thank you for showing me the way though. I’ve been bitten by every mosquito in Japan. Probably going to end up speaking Japanese from this experience. Hopefully. Did I say it? Well, is that how you say good morning myself? If I had to defend myself, then I think I would. Um, but That was a huge fighter. That was huge. And he spoke Japanese. What am I supposed to say today? [Music] grape juice toast. This looks so delicious. Sriracha. Oh my god. I want to try it. I don’t know what it is. And then look like a zucchini. Zucchini on a stick. Quail. I like the smile of everyone’s [Music] [Music] famous. Okay, that was not what I was expecting. It’s sold out. It’s closed. I got here at So, it wasn’t closed. I’m just the first one in line because they open at 11:00. I thought they were opening at 10. I was late. [Music] Super. [Music] Oy. [Music] Oh yeah. [Music] See you next time. [Music] Yeah. Yeah. Metro. So I got to Shiki market, but it was already closed. Have to figure out what I’m going to eat. [Music] my trouble with getting into public transportation or the payment that I had to make with Uber. Either way, I don’t think it was worth it. But at least I tried it and I know and I learned something new. I’ve done it a few times and I’ve learned that it’s not worth it. There’s always, trust me, there’s always good food. It doesn’t matter what time of the of the day it is. There’s always amazing food around. Yep. And you don’t really have to pay a huge price so that you can eat delicious. You can obviously just go to a convenience store, but I learned it the hard way and I’m happy. I mean, I don’t think I’ll that I wouldn’t do it again. It’s just I’ll do it less. I’ll try to stick to my surroundings, save time, save money and delicious and eat. [Music] I’m at Kio Misutera. It’s a temple that was re built in the year 778. I did do my research this time. So, it was totally worth it to come up to this side. I took an Uber from the hotel and it was about $12. Wow. Hy [Music] shore. [Music] You should [Music] [Music] fall off. [Music] So, just getting back to the hotel and I’m taking a bus on the way back. These are crazy. Chip says it’s not crazy. It’s basically what tacos are for the Mexicans. So yeah, I do I do love noodles. My god, this is so delicious. It’s a station. This is the best on one of the best noodles. See? Then we have a fish tempor. And we have a chicken tempora and noodles. [Music] Just waiting for the bus. So I can go to Osaka and take my flight back 71 conveniently. Oh, that’s it. Ready to go back home to hustle and do it all over again. [Music] 16. So, finally landed back in San Francisco and uh almost 11 in the morning and then I have to work in about 3 hours. So, I got to go to customs.
