Their submarine right-hander was left untouched until the sixth inning, and was silenced by the opposing team’s relief pitching in the closing stages. This was their 15th shutout loss of the season. Starter Espinoza gave up one run in six runs, marking his sixth loss. “I managed to keep the number of runs allowed to a minimum, and I wasn’t bad at pitching tenaciously,” he said of the game, but it was their sixth consecutive winless game since their third win on July 1st.
