Koshiki-shima Islands Scenic Drive 4K | Sato Port to Teuchi, Kagoshima, Japan

Koshiki-shima Islands are a chain of islands off the coast of Kagoshima, with breathtaking sea cliffs and beautiful beaches.
The archipelago consists mainly of three islands: Kami-Koshiki (Upper), Naka-Koshiki (Middle), and Shimo-Koshiki (Lower). All the islands are connected by large bridges.

This drive takes you on a scenic drive from Sato Port on Kami-Koshiki Island to Teuchi Beach on Shimo-Koshiki Island.
Along the way, we’ll stop at several viewpoints and waterfalls.
The most iconic view on this route is the Torinosu Viewpoint, which is visible in the thumbnail.
From here, you get a spectacular view of the Koshiki Ohashi Bridge, built in 1993, which connects Naka-koshiki and Shimo-koshiki islands.

At 25:10, you’ll see Urauchi Bay, which was a base for “Shinyo,” Kamikaze attack boats, during World War II.

In the early Showa period (around the 1930s), terraced rice fields once covered the island.
Although it’s difficult to find traces of them today, you can enjoy this drive even more by imagining the landscape of those days.

I’ll post the return trip video later, where we visit Kashima Sea Cliffs, one of the highlights of the Koshiki-shima Islands.
