Hello everyone. Once again, I’m bringing you the best local gourmet finds from Kujakuri Beach in Chiba Prefecture. This Coochukuri area is especially famous for clams and sardines. [Music] When it comes to clams, Kujukuri ranks in the top three nationwide for catch volume and they’re officially certified as a Chiba brand seafood. Today, we’re focusing on clam dishes. Let’s enjoy them together. [Music] I head straight to the local seafood restaurant, Isadari Bishoko, just nearby. This place serves fresh local seafood from Kujakuri Beach. It has a beautiful location with views of the shoreline. [Music] If you want to try raw clams as sushimi, this place is the only spot in the area and a must visit. [Music] Next, I moved to Umi Noeki Kujakuri just around the corner. [Music] I head up to the food court on the second floor. [Music] I ordered simmered clam sushi and clam tempura fritters. This food court is located right in front of Kotakai fishing court. [Music] The simmered clam sushi is so flavorful, you don’t even need soy sauce. [Music] Eating the clam tempura makes you realize cooked shellfish really brings out the umami. Absolutely delicious. [Music] They served us fugu, puffer fish, sushimi as an appetizer. I ordered a rare dish here, clam suku dani, simmered in soy sauce. [Music] Most restaurants around the hotel close early, but this place stays open until midnight. I ordered Zena no sakamushi sake steamed clams. Locals call the smaller clams zena. It’s simple, but the flavor is deep and satisfying. After checking out, I head straight to Katada Beach. [Music] I ordered butter grilled clams. The buttery richness pairs perfectly with the clam’s natural flavor. The lemon on the side adds a wonderful aroma. It feels like a touch of French cuisine.
