This is the ultimate ramen stall in Japan! Japanese street food – the best yatai noodles near Tokyo
Delicious! So good! Thank you for waiting Omiya city, Saitama prefecture A street stall ramen shop located a 10-minute walk from the station The owner arrives before 9 PM and starts preparing to open the shop First, he removes the wooden frame of the cover and sets up the street stall He takes out supplies and seasonings and arranges them Unlike a store, a street stall requires such effort It’s a nice atmosphere He takes the ingredients from the car and carries them to the street stall He stores the ingredients on the shelf and sets the noodles at the back A simple yet charming wooden stall kitchen Boiled eggs made at the owner’s home He arranges the dishes on the shelf He attaches the menu board Ramen : JPY800 / USD5.3
Char siu ramen : JPY1,300 / USD8.5
Boiled egg : JPY100 / USD0.7 Despite the wind and the biting cold, he continues working He places the boiled egg into the ramen bowl Homemade char siu made at home This stall was run by the owner’s father until last year, but starting this year, the owner has taken over Since when did your father start this street stall? It’s been 45 years since he started doing it in a different location, like Tokyo I also used to help out when I was a child There’s a photo from the time in Tokyo here. This should be from the Yaesu exit of Tokyo Station. I’m not in this photo, but I was right next to it. I was next to this stall Were you helping out? No, I was running a different stall My mother also ran a stall, so our family has a long history of stalls From now on, I’ll only be closed on Sundays, and I’ll keep pushing forward the rest of the days Is the business hours from 9 PM? Yes, it’s from 9 PM. I was late today, though Until what time do you operate? Usually until around 2 AM. However, if there are customers, I’ll keep serving. Did you also operate until late when you were running a street stall in the past? Yes, that’s right. On some nights, I stayed open until around 4 AM. Were you pulling the stall? Yes, I used to pull it myself, from where it was parked to the place where I sold In this photo, your father is also pulling the street stall Yes This album was made by a customer, and it contains various photos. It’s great when the customers leave with a smile after visiting The stall back then was large, just like in this photo Oh, there are tables lined up next to the stall, too Since people could sit up to this end, it felt like a large group was sitting side by side It seems to be human nature to want to go to a stall with a lot of people. The more customers there were, the more new customers would come Is the ramen at this street stall based on your father’s recipe? Yes, it’s based on the recipe that has been passed down for a long time. It’s a traditional-style ramen Our shop’s char siu is also homemade The ingredients for the soup are carefully proportioned, and we make it based on that It’s time to open, so he turns on the lights The red lantern adds a great atmosphere He arranges the chairs and adjusts the position of the tables Open Cut the green onions Boil the noodles Pour the sauce of soup into the bowl Pour the soup Drain the noodles and place them into the bowl Toss the noodles in the soup Place the char siu on top Add the menma green onions narutomaki It’s delicious It’s so cold that my nose is starting to run Place the miso tare (sauce) for the miso ramen into the bowl Thank you for the ashtray Your welcome Thank you for the meal! I’ll come again Separate the noodles to prevent them from sticking together Carefully scoop up the small amount of noodles left in the stockpot Here’s the miso ramen We just finished drinking Did you come here as a late-night meal to wrap up the night? Yes! We usually wrap up my time in Omiya with ramen Thank you so much! Two of the owner’s friends have come to the shop One of them is the carpenter who built this stall The warm steam gently warms my body, which had been freezing from the cold The one on the left is chashu ramen, loaded with chashu pork Can we have one large serving of ramen? OK. Do you share it? You get along well! I’m jealous haha Delicious! So delicious! Thank you so much! Itadakimasu! (Let’s eat!) So good! It really warms the body Let me know if it’s not enough. I’ll prepare one more Thank you So tasty It’s a nostalgic taste Let’s order and eat! I’m not bragging, but there are a lot of repeat customers for the chashu ramen. Chashu ramen is our popular menu item Thank you for waiting Chashu ramen Gochisosama-deshita! (Thank you for the meal!)

very nice recording, and yummy food! 😀
hi!
this one is very interesting, he operates really late and there are many customers, that's a really nice thing of Japan, it is really safe to be late on the streets
the ramen looks amazing and the owner looks really polite and humble, you can see the experience he has too
thanks for sharing
Curiosidade e quando chove ou neva não trabalha?
What a sweet man? I wish him the very best 👍👍 Watching from Australia. People love their pork
wish we had this in the states open a food truck plus it’s my favorite food. i get what i can in the cups of ramen 🍜 in the stores.
At the end of this year, I will go to Tokyo and definitely go eat this ramen.
I still can't get over the slurping…love the food though.
Where is the best place to come for foreigner/tourist if we want to find a yatai?
I really enjoy yatai videos, there's just something about that food culture. I wish I had visited them when I lived in Japan but it wasn't a thing where I was and I didn't know about them. There were plenty of good ramen shops where i was though.
There's even a great ramen restaurant nearby here so sometimes I still enjoy delicious ramen.
I love, love, love Ramen, I'm real picky about what goes in, so I can eat it different ways with different broths. I love my broth. I wish I could try his ramen; it looks delicious. well done, young man, keeping family tradition alive and well, hope you can pass it on.
American cities would throw an absolute fit at this kind of food stall – too bad because the food looks great and the price is very reasonable!
I just got into making my own ramen bowls and I'm loving the versatility of making bowl of "anything".
If you don't like the sound of people sapping while eating you better keep moving on this place
Terima kasih sarannya, salam sukses bersama
Awesome 😄👍
日本のラーメンを食べると豚の匂い油腐臭臭麺もあまり熟し、小麦粉の臭いがして再び食べない。豚の臭いが嫌いです。
Whats the difference between an old school strainer that the newer ones? just preference?
I would have to take my ramen 'to go' because why tf are they slurping so hard??

I’m surprised it’s not vandalized yet In America that stand would have been tagged on and have bums living there on the first night.
