With September just around the corner, so too is Le Labo’s annual City Exclusive Event – a month long event when the brand’s most coveted city-specific fragrances get to leave their hometowns, offering wearers the chance to explore far-off places through decadent scents. This year, the spotlight is on Kyoto, as the New York-based perfumery unveils OSMANTHUS 19 to the rest of the world.
An ode to the ancient-meets-modern charm of Japan’s Eternal City, Le Labo touts OSMANTHUS 19 as “a reminder to continually seek our impermanent, untamable beauty.” Inspired by the brand’s Kyoto flagship, housed in a restored machiya filled with warm wood and raw textures, the fragrance captures the essence of Wabi-Sabi living.
The scent opens with notes of incense and aromatic lavender, drying down to a creamy, uplifting heart of its titular flower, followed by a deep woody tones. The resulting fragrance captures the ephemeral magic of the osmanthus flower, a rare bloom only emerges as the rest of nature quiets into winter weathers.
Available globally through September 30, OSMANTHUS 19 joins the full City Exclusive lineup, including favorites like Coriandre 39 (Mexico City), Myrrhe 55 (Shanghai) and Citron 28 (Seoul.) Discovery sets and samples are now available on the Le Labo website, with full-size bottles launching September 1.
