山手線で行く、日本人が食べない物を探す旅

We are supported by our membership. Thank you. Tokyo is the capital of Japan, and the 23 special wards in its eastern part are home to approximately 9.9 million people. Today, I want to take a trip to experience foreign cultures on the green Yamanote Line train that runs through the center of Tokyo . Of course, I’ll also take a few other trains. Tokyo is home to people from more than 180 countries. The vast majority are Asian, but there are also people from Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Oceania, and all over the world. Obviously, you can’t experience the culture of all countries in one day. This video is very condensed and is just the tip of the iceberg. If this video is well received, I would like to do another travel video like this. It all started here, Okachimachi . One stop away is Ueno Station . It seems that many black markets were opened here after World War II, and perhaps as a remnant of that, there are still many shops and the streetscape is quite cluttered , but it may feel a little quieter than shopping streets in Southeast Asia. Now, this is the Yamanote Line that I will be riding all day today. Amazing . This blue train, Keihin Tohoku Line, passes majestically through a station used by 50,000 people a day. It’s a place that can be said to be the center of Tokyo, connecting Kanagawa Prefecture and Saitama , but it’s a luxury to pass through. But unfortunately, 50,000 people is a pretty small number by Tokyo standards. The white train with red lines that came from there is cool. The E657 series express train on the Joban Line. That’s the train that connects Tokyo and Sendai. Now, if you look under the station, can you call it a shopping street? The town comes into view. The Yamanote Line route map is very simple , it just goes around in a circle. There is no timetable. It comes about every 3 to 5 minutes. The roof is quite retro. I think it was built about 100 years ago. The platform is pretty quiet. Stations in the center of Tokyo are pretty quiet during the day, but the town is quite lively. This is Ameyoko Shopping Street. Let’s go . There are various restaurants like this, but there are many. Where is this? Is it Chinese food ? It looks really delicious. You can also eat pickled crab , but it’s expensive. This one looks like some kind of bar. This is Xiao Weibo. What country is this food from? Where? It looks delicious. They sell a lot of fresh fish like this. If they tell me, I wonder if I can eat it with soy sauce? Oysters are 1,000 yen. Expensive. I made a U-turn and came here, but I’m not going to eat here todayI want to get revenge on some Filipino food a little further awayI wasn’t able to eat the chicken adobo the other dayI’m being tempted to drink beer all over the place like this but I’ll resistI might eat some halal food laterI think I’ll get on the Yamanote Line and go eatSomewhere around hereThere’s a double-decker bus that’s now retired from JR Central parked around here (not sure if this is the vehicle in question)I wanted to go from Tokyo to Osaka on the Grand Hill ExpressI wonder if it’s an advertisement for martial artsNowadaysIt ‘s a really cool bus (made by Scania) It’s very cool and has a great design, but unfortunately it’s not a Japanese-made busI like the acceleration so I sometimes want to ride itBut the place you should go is thisIt seems to be a busy downtown area at nightIt has a slightly unsafe atmosphere, but there is no one there during the dayActually, this is my first time around hereIt seems like the restaurant is straight up from hereWill I be able to find it? As you can see, there are many Filipino pubs and similar establishments. I wonder if these establishments are run by such people during the day? I’m not sure, but to be honest, it’s so hot that I can’t go out during the day. It seems that the establishment is in this back alley. Japan is really safe in these places too. Filipino restaurant, bar, variety store . Ah, but I wonder . It seems to have a homely atmosphere. It’s not a restaurant at all, but I’m not sure. Should I go ? Should I go ? What do you think ? Can I go? It opens at 12:00 . Let’s go. It ‘s an interesting buffet . When I entered the restaurant, there were several Filipino regulars. I knew at a glance that this is a place just for enjoying Filipino home cooking. It also seems to be a hub for interaction, as the owner and customers seem to know each other. To be honest, it’s super awkward, but everyone can speak Japanese. Soup made from stewed beans and fish? This is the best conclusion It was delicious Especially the fried bacon, green beans and chili peppers were really delicious However, I felt a little disappointed that the rice was not Thai rice Bicol Express Chicken Adobo I wanted to eat that, but it was a little disappointing that they didn’t have it If I hadn’t gone abroad, I wouldn’t have been able to go to that restaurant. They only have really home-style food. It’s a buffet style. Google Maps has a very high rating. Maybe they also have alcohol? It was a restaurant that I think people who really want to eat home-style food should go to Very old stairs The stone walls are rare Is it only Akihabara and Shinbashi in Tokyo? There must be others Now, let’s go to Shin-Okubo next It’s a lot of noise This is during the daytime The blue “Keihin Tohoku Line” is passing over there The train that passes over there is the Ueno Tokyo Line The Yamanote Line is a train that goes from one end of the Kanto region to the other Most trains on the Yamanote Line go to the same destination and go around Tokyo all day The train was quite crowded I left Okachimachi, passed Ueno and Tabata, and drove on the tracks that were originally freight lines to Ikebukuro. After that, it joins the Saikyo Line and heads down to Tokyo again. The handrails on this train are rough and pleasant to touch. There is no one in the priority seat, so I could sit, but I feel a bit awkward about giving it up, so I’ll stand from the start . I think it’s better to stand and see the scenery better. I arrived at Ueno Station. It used to be the gateway to Tohoku, but now it’s the gateway to the world? You can get to the airport from here. There are no express trains on the Yamanote Line. All trains stop at every station. Apparently this section has the most tracks in Japan, but is that true? Ah! It’s the Skyliner. I guess it’s used by many foreigners coming to Tokyo from Narita Airport. As we left Nippori, the Shinkansen came into view. Leaving the substation behind, this must be the base for maintenance vehicles. It’s for conventional lines. Oh, it’s a Shinkansen. That’s the Hokuriku-Joetsu Shinkansen. I’ve been on that one many times heading to Kanazawa and Niigata, so I hope you’ll watch my previous videos. It’s June, but the temperature is over 30 degrees. Japan’s weather is crazy. Water keeps coming out of the air conditioner. Thanks to this, the inside of the train is very cool. I can see something. A green bullet train. Tohoku Shinkansen E5 series. I can see E7 series in the background. This is a pretty big train depot. It’s nice and easy to see from the train. Is it climbing a mountain in Tokyo? No, no, this is Musashino Plateau. After crossing the only railroad crossing on the Yamanote Line and climbing the hill, we are running at a slightly higher altitude. Tokyo is a plain, but it’s not completely flat. It’s quite bumpy. Many passengers got off at Ikebukuro and many passengers got on. I got off at Takadanobaba. I want to see something. I like the sound of this train’s motor. I like the futuristic sound. Over there are the JR tracks. This is the Seibu Shinjuku Line (private railway). There’s a mysterious enclosure over there. Illegal occupation. A word that is not often heard in Japan. The act of occupying and using other people’s land and buildings without legitimate rights. Until now, it has been done openly. Apparently there was an izakaya on the national land and Seibu Railway land. It seems to have been a pretty good restaurant. If you think about it, it’s strange to have a long, narrow building in a place like this. Well, this may be just the tip of the iceberg, but there may be more to find if you look further . There really was a horse. Takadanobaba “Baba” is a place for equestrian training. This place seems to have been used by samurai for equestrian training. There is a park nearby and it was a training ground . I took a little detour . Next is Shin-Okubo. This is my destination. I came to Shin-Okubo, which has a different atmosphere. I feel like drinking alcohol . I feel sick. For some reason, I feel nauseous when I’m on the train. I feel good when I’m in the sunlight. Why? Over there is the Korean town . There is only one ticket gate over there on the Islamic street. It’s easy to understand. I don’t know if it’s hot or cool. I don’t think Korean beer is very tasty. It’s a prejudice. I wish there was a halal beer. Is there a Chinese beer like this? Is there something good? I’ve never tried something called piryani, so I’d like to try it. It’s delicious and has a nice atmosphere. Is it cheap? No one is drinking alcohol. As expected, there are a lot of Muslims, so I wonder if there is alcohol? I wonder where I should eat. There is a line. This Green Nasco restaurant was burned, but it has been renovated. Where should I go for lunch? Let’s go into a restaurant . Doesn’t it have beer ? No alcohol . It doesn’t have a nice atmosphere. There doesn’t seem to be any alcohol here either . What is this? Beets ? Oh, it’s beets. There are some. Alcohol. There are some tasty looking things. 200 yen. Is it not alcohol? I see. These chilli peppers look tasty. Are they spicy? These look pretty spicy too. This is amazing . This is spice heaven . Amazing. These are all beans. There are all kinds of beans. But it’s written in Japanese. Proof it went through customs. Where is this rice that everyone is talking about ? Is it American rice? I see, Thai rice is delicious. I love it. Do Filipinos not like Thai rice? I want to eat it. Wow, that looks amazing. What is this too? Arab? It’s chilli peppers from the UAE. Amazing. It’s a clean restaurant with no spice smell at all. The second floor is for sweets. What is this ? Does that mean they don’t use alcohol in their food or anything? Is it detergent? They’re really pushing Kobe spices. What is this? Should I buy it? Does it taste like beer because it has malt extract? 200 yen. Apparently you open it with your hands. The interesting smell is apple juice. Does it really have malt extract? Ordinary apples. Ordinary apple soda. Is it tasty ? I only want to eat Korean noodles. Buldak. It’s delicious . Is this spicy too? What are these vegetables? Is it run by ordinary Japanese people? The smartphone is an ordinary shop. It’s an Xperia from a long time ago. Xperia 1. Where did you get such a nostalgic thing? Fish shop. Japanese fish shop. Snow crab is 700 yen cheap. I don’t know . This. I love this. This is it. Super spicy noodles. Not oily and delicious. 900 yen. It’s the regular price. Is this the storehouse from the previous store? Shall I eat something here? I’m full. Maybe I’ll come back later . The yakitori looks good. I wonder if an important person is here. Who is it? No. My food tour plan failed. I’m so full I don’t feel like eating anything else. Why is this guard always so noisy ? Is it because it’s antique? Looking at the ceiling, you can see construction methods that aren’t used anymore. Welding, etc. There are cute pictures on it. This side is wider than the Korean town and Islamic street, and this side feels more like a town. There are already a lot of restaurants. I want to eat buldak. Is there any? I ate it last night and it’s really delicious when you eat it with mayonnaise, seaweed, and sesame seeds. I thought there were only young people here, but surprisingly there were a lot of people in their late 20s. It’s a weekday today, so there are definitely no children here. The restaurant was converted from a former parking lot. Interesting. I saw this in the Philippines the other day. It’s an octopus. Why is it here? It’s also kind of big. Maybe it’s a Korean toy? It said it was made in the Philippines, but I bought it for a friend. This grey thing is cute, or should I say, kind of funny. I’ve never seen a character like this before. The chilled champon looks good too. It’s not that spicy. Korean food was featured on a Japanese variety show, and it seems that some Muslims abstain completely from alcohol, while others don’t. Details are unknown. I don’t know, but there’s Thai food. Korean food, Islam, Turkey , Thailand. I tried to eat all the food from those places, but it’s impossible. My stomach capacity is really too small. I’m watching this guy called Invincible Leo, and he ate this alive and it looked delicious. I wonder if I can eat it . By the way, I want to go to Korea and eat it. It’s good. There are a lot of food stalls like this. You can eat a lot of different things here . Bulgogi is also good. It’s really spicy and sweet. I love gochujang . It goes well with miso ramen . Is it doubanjiang? It would be great if you could experience such an exotic atmosphere without getting on a plane . Is this really called tteukbaegi? You can buy it at Daiso for 100 yen. Korea has a lot of different alcohol like this . But the alcohol content isn’t that high. It’s 14%! It’s crazy. Oh, it’s good . It was banned in the Netherlands or some other country. It’s too spicy, so it’s not a problem. I think it’s a taste that Japanese people love. I thought there were only Koreans there, but there were only Japanese people in the store. I want to meet Ma Dong-seok. There is this mysterious handsome man street. What is it? This. It seems that it originated from the fact that so-called handsome men used to solicit customers in the past, but it’s either two blocks away or this one . It ‘s completely different. It was this way. It’s cool when you get in the shadow . The amount is too much. It’s hot!! Do you have rice? Really? I’m glad I only had a little. It’s crazy. This is so hot. I was happy with just this, but I didn’t think there was rice too . Let’s eat . The chopsticks are interesting and delicious. It’s not that spicy. Overall it’s seafood. There are shellfish in it, maybe clams? Not cucumber, what was it called? This kimchi, which is like melon, is surprisingly spicy. Delicious. Is it radish? It’s too hot to eat. I guess I should wait and eat salad until it cools down? It’s good that it’s not salty. Korean food, Korean idol songs are a bit Japanese, and I think they all sound similar. I wonder if they want to make songs that sell in both countries. It was hot, spicy, and delicious. It’s not that spicy, so I think anyone can eat it. Let’s go drink some dark beer. I’m a bit overheated, but I’ve been walking around the hot tent hall for a long time. I think you should do sightseeing in the evening or at night. It’s dangerous, it’s hell, I’ve got a headache. I often see green and orange trains, but they’re so-called suburban trains in the Kanto region, so they’re nice to have two – story green cars that run everywhere . It’s a shame there are no outlets or Wi-Fi. Well, we don’t need them. Seibu probably wants to build a station in Shin-Okubo. But here comes a train with no space. It’s too fast. Is it going 100km? It can’t be. It ‘s so crowded. Are you going to ride this? It’s hell, it’s too crowded. Is this the power of the world’s largest number of passengers? (3.5 million people a day) There is a sacred place at Shinjuku Station. There is a mysterious shrine. It is impossible to enter. Well, there is a vending machine that brings back memories . Wow, it’s amazing. I wondered why everyone was taking pictures of the screen, and then I saw that it was playing a commercial for an anime called Love Live. I’ve never seen it, so maybe I’ve seen the first episode. No one knows it. It’s like you can’t see the ads at all like this, but it’s fun . It’s so nice when commercials for movies you like start playing. If you go out the ticket gate and go left, right, left, there’s this great bar. It looks good. I have a bit of a headache, but I’ll drink a beer. There are few seats, so you might as well not be able to sit down. Do they have wine? They also had Sapporo dark beer and some kind of half Guinness beer, but they’re expensive. Well, I’m not feeling well, so I’ll leave it at that. That’s it. Price 300 yen, pretty reasonable, you pay in advance, standing and very few seats, I wonder who drew it, maybe the owner, their specialty is sausages, they say they trained overseas, they only had beer, thank you for the meal, I’m so drunk I’m dying, damn , I have a headache, I wonder if there’s a pharmacy, there’s a plane flying right above Shinjuku station, that’s probably going to Haneda airport, I thought I was hydrated, is this okay, is there a pharmacy, isn’t Loxonin expensive? Loxonin, ok, I need it as a home remedy, this is the most effective, no matter what, I only take it about twice a month, so it’s bad, if I don’t take it quickly it melts quickly , where should I go, it’s so crowded , why is the Saikyo Line so narrow, the platform, I think it’s a super dangerous station, it might be the most crowded station in the world and the most dangerous station at the same time, let’s take this Shonan Shinjuku Line to Shibuya, to be honest, I feel like going to Odawara, let’s go , when I leave Shinjuku, Meiji Shrine comes into view, a very sacred place. It ‘s a shrine . As I said before, this train is a suburban train, so it has a toilet. It’s pretty clean . It’s really crowded. I arrived at Shibuya Station, which is undergoing major renovations. I don’t know where I am anymore. Scramble Square. It’s right under a skyscraper. I always wonder how long this road will be temporary. Is it finished yet? Is that possible ? It looks like it. Apparently you ‘ll be able to walk on the Ginza Line, so I wonder if they’ll destroy it when they get there? I don’t really know. I ‘m tired. Anyway, today I feel like I’m taking a leisurely trip, so let’s rise to the sky . Light… Oh! It’s the Konan bus. (No, it’s the Kominato bus.) I wonder if it came from Aomori (actually it came from Chiba) . Now let’s look at the Shibuya scenery from this “Hikarie”. It must be beautiful, it’s so spacious, the scenery is really beautiful here , what a beautiful shadow, I wonder, it’s pretty sunny today, it ‘s not cloudy or anything but it’s not bad, the top is an office building and normal people can’t enter, it’s amazing, it’s been recreated with Lego, I’m currently in the building in front, the bright blue building in the back is Shibuya Scramble Square, it’s amazing, you could recreate Tokyo with Lego, how big a room do you need… we’re currently in this tower, it’s beautiful, it’s nice, Shibuya Scramble Crossing is on the other side of those train tracks, it’s an amazing big city, Death Stranding, I’m looking forward to seeing the clothes I’m wearing, I want to play soon, I love Hideo Kojima, there are many things he used as references in terms of visuals as well I want to deliver beautiful scenery and images to everyone, I’m always worrying, wondering if this quality is really good enough, there’s no completion, that’s Scramble Square, it’s empty today, Shibuya is a valley as the kanji says, and I think this is the bottom of the valley, the further you go the more you have to climb the hill , and the further you go over here the more you have to go up the hill, there’s a delicious Chinese restaurant over there called Panda Express, so maybe I’ll go there later, shall I go down? It seems like it’s difficult to grow plants in such a high place, surprisingly I wonder if it will die soon. I didn’t think it was growing in such a small pot. It’s interesting that it’s a Takarazuka theater, but it’s being held at Tokyu. Most of these Tokyu buses are very cheap, costing between 230 and 40 yen. If you pay in advance, it’s only 230 yen, so you won’t get ripped off and it’s safe. Shibuya Station on the Ginza Line is stylish . I wonder, are these street vendors legal? I don’t really get it . When you go down, it’s very clear that it’s a slope. Can you see it from here ? You can clearly see that the height of that scramble intersection is completely different on both sides. What a great person. Can you play Cyberpunk on the Switch? It looks really heavy. But it’s huge. I’m not sure why they placed the monitors like that. This ticket gate is closed . There’s a really long line. It’s ridiculous. It’s under renovation, so it can’t be helped. I don’t know much about it, but is it a new type of bus to transport police officers? There’s no one here. Is there something going on? Tokyu Department Store is gone without a trace. It’s so fast. I guess it’s demolition work. To be honest, I feel like this is just a tourist intersection. There’s Mario Kart. A car that Japanese people hate. Everyone is taking videos. An intersection with so many people is rare in the world. There is a bus I want to ride. There is a very small bus over there. I want to ride that. I wonder if Lilo and Stitch is released simultaneously worldwide. It was also wrapped in a wrapping for the LRT in Manila. The image quality is too good . A city for young people. There are no elderly people. Nice view. Japan has surprisingly few high-rise buildings . Compared to Hong Kong, Shanghai, New York, Dubai, etc., there are many small multi-use buildings in Japan. Well, the buildings are not so tall that an airplane can crash into them, and it cannot slip between them, but it can be photographed as if it is slipping through. What on earth are you doing? What are you doing with a computer? By the way, I can’t believe that the place I was just on the 10th floor. It’s too high. Well, there is no worry of being stolen, but it might be better not to walk a little further with your valuables, and if something happens, you should immediately go to the police box on the other side of this traffic light. The number of bus stops at Shibuya Station is abnormal and makes no sense. There are numbers 0 to 85, but are there really 85? Is it true that there are 91 express buses in the 90s? I don’t really get it. But I want to ride this Hachiko bus, where? I wish I had a telephoto lens. The amount of route buses is insane . It’s too thick . Amazing. There’s this free boarding and disembarking zone that you only see in the countryside. Seriously? Hachiko. It ‘s really popular, but I think it’s better to come at night. This place is used as a meeting place for young people, and it’s a great place where there are really only young people, and I think it’s a nice view to see the Yamanote Line running close to the ground. Finally, I’ll finish off by eating some spicy food at Handa Express . It’s hydrangea season, so there are hydrangeas on the display in front, it’s beautiful. It ‘s not Willer Express. There’s something called a restaurant bus, and I’d like to ride that too, but the security is good (sarcasm). I thought the loop was a place you could just leave it alone, but I think I was wrong, but it’s amazing, the number of planes around here. Haneda has a maximum of 90 takeoffs and landings per hour. Are you going over there? Shibuya… What was it called… Miyashita Park. There’s a great Chinese restaurant here. Let’s go. I don’t drink alcohol. There are a lot of Lupin III today. It seems they are playing a puzzle game in Shibuya. This is supposed to be a park, but it’s amazing, it’s amazing, it’s like, look, there ‘s a place here, but it’s supposed to be a park, but there was a commercial facility , Panda Express, this is Chinese food, but it ‘s a Chinese restaurant that originated in America, what should I do? It’s small so it’s good , I’m not really hungry, and they’ve run out of spicy food, this, this, this, this is the best, this street is so crowded , what should I do, what’s this, it’s so crowded, there’s no place to sit, I’d like a watermelon, I’ll eat outside. The view is also good, it’s really good , does this have a seat? Such a beautiful facility, but it’s really interesting that it’s a park, why can’t you set off fireworks, it ‘s fine, you know, you can’t . This really feels like an oasis in the city, everyone is lying down, I wonder if I should eat there too, is it prohibited except for Starbucks? I think it’s a Boeing-like Zipair. No , I ‘ve never seen it.The table is too far away.Well , it’s okay, but this is seriously delicious so I definitely want you to try it at least once.I want to drink a beer but I’ll feel sick. What ‘s so delicious about this is that it has a whole chilli pepper, which I love (I know I’m being noisy…). Let’s eat. It’s delicious , but the value for money isn’t great. It costs 1000 yen.But it’s delicious so it’s OK.Let ‘s eat…. It’s bad.It ‘s bad. This is not something for humans to eat. It’s extremely spicy. It ‘s bad.It also has nuts in it and it’s delicious.Hold on a sec, there’s no milk, I forgot to buy some , this is bad, I can’t stop sweating, what’s that ?Philippine Airlines? Asiana Airlines? Eh, I don’t know Asiana-esque? That’s right, the other day, in the lounge at Haneda, why did they start putting all kinds of nuts and persimmon seeds on these vegetables? I think it ‘s because I can’t forget the taste of this. Yes , this kind of food is delicious, really, that ‘s why I’ve done it so many times. Really good, really good, meat, fried noodles, a little bit of chili pepper on top of the vegetables ? How should I eat it? It was too much to eat a whole one, it ‘s best to eat it bit by bit, it’s so spicy, so spicy, no, it ‘s super good, look at our Jar, it’s amazing , it’s abnormally spicy , why is it so spicy? I feel like eating this about once every two months, is this what they call a luxury car? I want to take a picture of this going at 300km/h, it’s fun to take a picture just above the ground, I actually love racing, that flame was on in the movie Gran Turismo, no… is it a Transformer? By the way, I liked Transformers from the beginning. I really love taking pictures of cars like this. Even if you take pictures of trains like this, it looks cool and I love it. It may be the second safest downtown area in Asia after Singapore , but there are many petty crimes in Tokyo. It’s not that safe. I thought it was Japanese food, but it was halal ramen. I want to eat real halal food . It’s safer than the downtown area of Kabukicho, so I can walk around with peace of mind. I wonder if it’s safe because there is no so-called red-light district? I think so. Where are you all going? Some people will wander around the vast downtown area of Shibuya alone. Some people will be sad to say goodbye to their friends. Later. I returned to Okachimachi Station again, but my stomach capacity is really small, so I couldn’t give up. The first time I went abroad was to Hong Kong. I couldn’t forget what I ate at Hong Kong Airport. By the way , isn’t tea cheap? Let’s order it. The squishy white mysterious food Cheong Fan The inside of the restaurant is just like Hong Kong First, wash the teacups Wash with hot water, pour in the tea again, and wash again I wonder if this is the right way to do it I tried to imitate the old man next to me but I don’t know where to put the spoon Is it okay if I wash it about three times? Finally, pour the tea Ah, it’s a mess It’s delicious I was hesitant because the Google reviews were not so good, but that wasn’t the case The inside of the restaurant has a great atmosphere The customers are all Hong Kong people So the portions are big I’ll get full from this I think It’s more fun if you come with a large group Ah, this. This saltiness. Too delicious. You eat that much? ? ? Amazing… I’m full from this. This building. It was so delicious. Thank you for the meal. It was very delicious What do you think? You can experience foreign cultures without going abroad. Please write in the comments section what scenes you liked in this video. 1.
