DENMARK & GERMANY by CRUISE TOUR – Warnemunde, Rostock & Cruise Tour #Denmark #Germany #Copenhagen
Welcome back to Latha and Prem Around
the World. Episode 6, Baltic Cruise Tour. And I’m Latha. I’m Prem. Day three at sea showcased a breathtaking sunrise and the stunning beauty of the ship both inside and out. We enjoyed the ship’s indoor activities, especially the intricate fruit and vegetable carving show. We explored Copehagen, Denmark on day four with a visit to the Little Mermaid. On day five, we arrived at Warnemunde port, Germany to explore the Sand Art Exhibition. In Rostock, we visited the magnificent St. Mary’s Church, the artistic joy of life fountain, Rostock University, and a gem factory. I woke up early morning, excited to see the sunrise and
rush to the top deck. I was surprised to find a few birds keeping me company in the middle of the sea. I was shocked to feel completely alone on the top deck, despite being on a ship with 2,500 people. I scanned every direction from the ship, searching for the sunrise, but I did not know which way was East. Finally, I spotted the first sign of the sun. As I zoomed in with my camera, I was astonished to see long rays of light
like a trail of fire stretching across the water. I was so happy I had found the perfect spot. More birds began to join me as if they too were waiting for the spectacle. I knew I had to share this. So I went to get Latha. She was just as excited and we watched the sunrise together. We noticed how our faces seemed to glow in the golden light. It was a truly spiritual moment for us. Though I follow many Hindu traditions, I believe in God in all forms and I consider my parents my first gods. But seeing the everpresent sun god in the middle of the sea filled me with immense joy and gratitude and I offered my silent prayers. After soaking in the sunrise’s pleasure,
we headed to the dining hall for coffee. At last, we happily enjoyed
our coffee around 6:00 a.m. While we were enjoying our coffee, we
saw a small sea plane landing on the water and docking. It was an amazing and unexpected sight to witness. From deck 7, we observed the vibrant fruit and
vegetable carving show happening on deck 5. In the same deck 7, we were excited to
see the pictures of passengers taken by the ship’s photography team were displayed for purchase. We will see them later stage. Skilled chefs created delicate butterflies and other art forms from cooled sugar syrup, making beautiful display. Also, we were focused on the intricate
carving styles, watching as the talented artists transformed ordinary fruits and
vegetables into beautiful models. The final displays were a testament to their skill
and creativity, a delightful sight to behold. It was a fascinating blend of art and personal memories. Thank you, Francis. Have a nice day. Thank you. Thank you. This is the Liberty Memorial, a 20 m tall obelisk with four female figures at its base. It started raining in Copenhagen this morning just as we planned to go sightseeing. Despite the weather, we were determined to explore. This is Copenhagen Central Station, which
is Denmark’s main railway hub. Copenhagen Zoo is one of Europe’s oldest.
Due to rain, it looks like our sightseeing will be limited to a bus tour. We will explore Copenhagen’s charm from the comfort of our seats. Copenhagen, a renowned cycling city, boasts over 400 kilometer of bike lanes where residents of all ages use bicycles for daily transport. The Radisson Collection Hotel called Royal Copenhagen has a striking archway that stretches over a busy street. This modern feature beautifully connects the different parts of the hotel creating
a unique and elegant architectural design. Now we are walking to The Little Mermaid, a famous bronze statue in Copenhagen inspired by Hans Christian Anderson’s fairy tale. She sits on a rock by the water. This small statue has become a major symbol of the city and
a very popular spot for tourists to visit. After touring Copenhagen in the rain, we finally
returned to our ship, the Columbus. It was a wet but memorable day. We were happy to be back on
board, ready to relax after our exploration. After dinner, we took a breezy stroll along the ship’s side, admiring the calm, beautiful sea. It was amazing. Also, we saw a father and son playing a striker game on the walkway. It was heartwarming and fun moment to end our day. During breakfast on day four, our ship
the Columbus docked in Warnemunde Port, Germany. From our usual top deck spot, we caught a glimpse of the town and a beautiful view of a bright red train passing by. We found a huge cruise ship
docked right beside us. Now we are ready to explore Rostock City on our shore excursion bus. It is an exciting and unique way to start our day in Germany. Then suddenly they turn to a different color as The University of Rostock is one of the
oldest in the world. Founded in 1419, Rostock’s University Square is a feast for the
eyes with its vibrant colorful houses. The centerpiece is “The joy of Life Fountain”
where magnificent bronze statues gracefully depict the unity of life creating a beautiful
contrast against the surrounding architecture. “is underneath our clothes. We’re all the same.
We’re all in the same boat. Everybody’s equal.” “Everybody is treated equally. As you notice the
the main market right up here, every so often it’s quite busy. Right now, we just have a few vendors,
a bit of fresh produce. This was once called Tman. Tman was once a leader of a communist
party market and the fancy fountain in
front of you is not so city hall Rostock City Hall is a pink building that mixes old and new
styles. It has a beautiful Baroque front, but inside you can still see it’s older, showing a long history. St. Mary’s Church has an impressive tower that dominates the city skyline. It’s a magnificent example of brick Gothic architecture. This church has a remarkable Astronomical Clock
from 1472 still functions with its original mechanism. It’s special because it shows more than just time like star signs and moon faces. Every hour, little figures of apostles move around. It’s amazing. This gem factory is a renowned jewelry manufacturer. They are celebrated as the largest and oldest
producer of amber jewelry in Germany. The Warnemunde Sand Art Exhibition is a popular attraction at the port, welcoming cruise passengers. Talented European artists create impressive and detailed sand sculptures which are then displayed for visitors to admire. The Themes often vary, celebrating different aspects of history or culture. This large temporary Grand Stand at the Warnemunde port is likely set up for a special event. It is for a maritime festival or sailing competition. After dinner, we enjoyed a night view of Warnemunde and our ship, the Columbus. We learned that ship building is popular here and even saw the location where new ships are constructed.
