Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has shared an update with supporters as the Reds continue their pre-season preparations.

Arne Slot triumphed in his first season in England, winning the Premier League title by a 10 point margin over nearest challengers Arsenal.

Liverpool want to defend their Premier League crown and make progress in the Champions League, so Slot has moved quickly already in the window to add four major additions to his squad.

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak could be the next to join after the Swedish international told the Toon of his intentions to explore a move away from St James’ Park.

Midfield an area of strength for Slot

Football Insider Verdict

It has been a busy window for Liverpool and there interest in Isak could ensure the Reds have one of the deadliest strike forces in Europe next season.

Isak has proven to be one of the best strikers in the Premier League and his partnership with Salah and fellow new recruit Florian Wirtz could light up the division.

Salah has already netted in pre-season after the Egyptian’s 28 goals proved pivotal in the Reds’ title success.

With Luis Diaz departing to Bayern Munich and Harvey Elliott also potentially leaving amid Premier League interest, Salah will again be a key player down the flanks.

Liverpool’s defence also gets plenty of praise with Virgil van Dijk at the heart of it, but Szoboslai has gone under the radar under Slot as a key player.

The 24-year-old’s box-to-box style means he contributes in defence and attack, and he will only continue to thrive under Slot’s management.
