(Mainichi/Yosuke Tsuyuki)
A 4-year-old female polar bear named “Ho-chan” received a big ice block with her favorite apples inside on July 19 at Tennoji Zoo in the city of Osaka. This was given to help her stay energetic during the severe heat. On this day, Osaka’s temperature exceeded 32 degrees Celsius in the morning. Ho-chan seemed happy as she bumped the ice into the water, broke it, and bit into the apples.
