I frequently buy parts from PartSouq for my Toyota projects (based in Dubai but sells OEM Toyota parts) as well as Amayama.

As I understand it, with the recent changes in tariffs in the United States, there is still a de minimis exemption for products with value under $800 for countries of origin other than China. Hypothetically, if I’m buying a bunch of parts that were made in Japan, I should not expect a surprise duty bill as long as those parts are:

  • not over $800 in value
  • not made in China

Anyone recently buy parts from abroad since the tariff changes have any feedback to share?

    Yes

Under $800 means no tarrifs. At least it did for me, about a month ago.

However, check to see if the Di Minimis has changed since then.

Doesn’t matter where they are made, matters where they ship from. If they’re made in Japan, but dispatched out of China, expect it to count as an import from China.
