Watches in Japan from Seiko, Citizen, Tag Heuer and more inside BIC Camera Osaka
Low-key personal favorite of mine, Tag Hoyer. I really like the dial. It kind of looks like a nebula, I would say. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening everyone. Welcome back in our channel Mad Corner here. And for this episode, we are still roaming around Osaka. To be more specific, we are now in Namba. We are just few minutes away from Dotton Bori. But the main point of this episode is all about watches, gadgets, and where you can buy them. But honestly, more of watches. This place is not a stranger to you anymore. We’ve visited multiple stores from Tokyo, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and now we are going to add Osaka in our arsenal. Why are we doing this? Just because I want to share to you and show to you as well what are the possible watches that you can find inside Big Camera here in Namba. so that before you go here, you already know what to expect. And if you have other plans of going to other prefectures, I’ll put all of the links on the description box down below of all the big cameras that we’ve visited. And one more thing, if you have any travel needs such as pocket Wi-Fi, eim tickets for your Disneyland or Universal Studios, you can purchase those things via cluke.com. And guys, please take advantage of our promo code madcorner cluke to enjoy that 3 to 5% discount. Again, that is mad corner clue. Another thing that I like about Big Camera when it comes to watches would be the wide range of selection from entry level, mid-level up to Rolex, Omega, they have them there. Especially Seikkos, all good. It feels like it can be a one-stop shop for your watch hunting because they also have the smart watches from Apple, Samsung, anything in your mind. Let’s not waste any more of your time and proceed to Big Camera Namba. We are recording this video as of May 2 of 2025. We might release this by June. I think late June of 2025. Just be mindful of the dates. Here we go, boys and girls. This is the big camera. And I have to tell you right now, I’m quite interested with the DJI drones as well. Let’s just have a quick look with the prices. Aside from the watches, normally first floor is all about uh cell phones and other gadgets related to that. We’re going now to the third floor because that’s where the magic happens for the watches and the drone that we wanted to see. And just like that, Grand Seiko will greet you right away. They have here the spring drives. This one, the green one on your left, SBG257. It’s currently listed for 891,000 yen. On its right side, this is the black spring drive GMT. SBG253 for 891,000 yen. And then on its right side, the blue one, same price, 891,000 yen. Casually sitting here would be the SBG279 that kind of looks like the snowflake dial for 737,000 yen. And if you’re going to convert that to US, that will be around $5,000. And then the blue one, the GMT uh what you call this GMT SBG E281. Same price. Also, if you’re a bit more practical, they have here the SBGA 465, the one on your left, that is not a GMT spring drive. So, it is listed for 682,000 yen. And then on its right side, this is the SBGA47 for 682,000 yen. I don’t have a red watch, but this brand Seikko SBGA499 that is listed for 792,000 yen. It’s beautiful, man. And it has a touch of salmon color. It’s lovely to be honest with you. But unfortunately, I don’t have the bank account to purchase that one. And on its left, it looks like an icy blue dial and it’s a GMT Grand Seiko watch SBGM253 for 759,000 yen. If you’re going to convert that to USD, roughly around $5,000. I don’t know if it’s just me. I’m starting to be a sucker of this SBGN013. I really like the color combination of its dial. Black dial with an accent of red with some touches of silver. It just perfectly. It’s just perfect in my eyes right now. But for 385,000 yen, this is a quartz watch with a 40mm case and a sapphire crystal as well. A good indicator to tell that it is a quartz watch is that the second hand it’s sticking. It’s not sweeping. Yes, I’m learning from you guys. Something that I’m kind of grateful as well is that we are receiving some comments about women’s watches. So, we have here the STGF267 from Grand Seiko with a case size of 28 mm and they’re currently selling it for 330,000 yen. The dial, it looks like a rainbow/pearl color when the light kind of hits it. On top of that, it has the date feature. Also, just in case you are wondering, the price that I’m saying right now is the tag price. So, you have to remove 10% off if you are a tourist like me. You just have to present your passport. A good friend of ours owns a Grand Seiko SBGM247, which is this one here. And they’re selling this for 792,000 yen. This is a GMT Grand Seiko watch and it has an orange GMT hand. But obviously, this is too big for me because it has a case size of 40 mm and for lugto lug around 48 mm as far as I can remember. And on its right side, almost the same, but the dial is color blue. same price. And if you’re going to convert the 792,000 yen to USD, that will be around more than $5,000. And to Philippine peso, I think this would be around 250,000 pesos, I think. And of course, the popular SBGM221 for $671,000 yen. And the larger one, the SBGR261. They’re quite different in terms of style and design, but same color for 638,000 yen. And finally, something that is attainable for our level would be the Seikko Prospects Divers watch. These stainless steel watches are ranging from 57,000 yen up to 66,000 yen. For the 66,000 yen, just remove 10% that goes down to 60,000 yen. And that is the one on your right side. This one. This one. There you go. The SBDL series are patiently waiting here, ranging from 72,000 yen up to 75,000 yen. That is the discounted price already. So for the popular one, the the 085, which is the Panda, this one, it’s for 72,000 yen. I just remembered something last December when we were in Tokyo, we found the SBDL 101. And then once we got back home, we received a lot of messages. over Instagram asking for that watch, but unfortunately it’s quite hard to find it again. So, if you guys have the SBDL 101, let me know what what are your thoughts about that watch. And I feel like it’s really hard to find that watch. This SBDY133 is really sharp in terms of looks and they’re selling it for 57,500 yen. Again, this is the SBD Y133 and it’s pure black and it looks so sexy with the cream accent. Definitely, we’re not going to miss the GMT Prospects watches. We have the green and the black one, both for 199,000 yen. Then on its right side, some of the automatic prospects as well for 160,000 yen. And then down here, these are the prospects. Again, automatic watches, just different colors that we have the black and the blue here. This is the SBDC197 and 195. Both of them listed for 160,000 yen. Conversation starter would be this Seikko Astron SBXD029, but for its price point, 270,000 yen. I really like the dial. kind of looks like a nebula, I would say. Down on its lower part, it has a purple color and then kind of moves to the darker color of the upper part of its dial. I’m not sure if it’s just because of the light, but if that’s the case, then still it’s a good-looking watch. A great number of Astron over here, ranging from 250,000 yen up to 330,000 yen. Feel free to pause the video if you’re going to see something that you like. And for me, ah, this blue one looks good. This is a GPS watch and they’re selling it for 250,000 yen. Right over here would be the SBXY series and the black one, the second one. I really like it. To be more specific, it is the XBXY063. They’re letting this one go for 120,000 yen. It has a case size of I think this is a 39 mm. And the black dial is just perfect for me. I also like the case design. To my surprise, I’m receiving a lot of messages about this SBPY 165, the one in the middle. It’s quite similar to SBDL085, which is the Panda. Well, obviously they have the same feature, black and white on its dial. But this one, this is at 33,600 yen only. Even if this is a solar chronograph watch, this is very wearable in your daily life because in terms of versatility, this one wins. And if you’re feeling a bit more refined or dressy, you can definitely try this green one over here for 17,000 yen only. It is the Seikko SB TR017. I know a lot of you are eyeing this S Y123 or the Seikko Pras cocktail. This is the color blue. This is a 40 mm case watch, but for 41,500 yen only, dude, that’s a good deal for a watch like this. You just have to pick your poison between the blue, red, or green. Whichever you pick, definitely they will work with your wrist. If your attack is a bit more simpler, then you can definitely check the SX series. The one on your left is the black. The one in the middle is the salmon, which I really like. And then the cream one on your right. All of them are listed for 120,000 yen each. A lot of you are interested about the Citizen watch. And here you go, guys. I love the selection that they have here, especially these things. I’m not even sure if they can pass as a time machine by looking at them. And for the price point from 30,000 yen on your right side up to 35,000 yen. I know Citizen has been living under the shadow of Seikko for I don’t know how many years because they’re always second to Seikko. But they’re not chasing the Swiss pedigree. Instead, they are chasing the sun or the sunlight because of their eco drive technology that sips light, stores it, and keeps sticking without the waste of a disposable battery. Speaking of eco drives, here they are right in front of us on our left side for 42,000 yen. It is the green one, then jumps to the black, then blue, and then this one looks like a metal in the middle, and then more playful colors on the right side, but very manly. To summarize the power of the Eco Drive, technically it stores energy from the sunlight and then it gives and that gives power to the quartz movement inside. Look what they have here. Uh, I would say this is a pseudo tank from Citizen. This is an Eco Drive as well. The the white dial is at 14,000 yen. And then the one at the right side, the black one, same price. I’m not going to lie to you boys and girls. I’m still learning every curve of citizen history. It’s not easy as ABC. So, we’re still taking our time. But bit by bit, we are learning more and more about them. One of the popular citizen watch would be this, the Chuiosa. And the one on your left is actually my favorite color, the Tiffany color dial. It’s the NJ1 NJ015188M. And it is first and it is currently listed for 42,000 yen. On its right side, it looks like a Netflix color. I don’t know how to describe it, but it it has multiple colors. And then on its right, the one in the middle, the red one. I really like it. It’s very classy red color in the middle of its dial. And then kind of fades to a darker tone at the end of its dial. And that’s for 42,000 yen as well. And then this is the black. We have the yellow and the green. And on a higher note from Citizen would be the Series 8. Roughly around 180,000 yen up to 250,000 yen. And this one is the highest price. A watch brand that I feel like being slept on here in Japan would be Orient. Not just because I bought one, but because of its quality and price point. It’s a really nice. I bought the Bambino for less than $200. And I’m always using it, not just for dress occasions, but I also use it if I feel like it suits my outfit. They have more option over here. But come on, man. How come there’s no light on this cabinet? They’re just playing dirty for Orient. One striking feature that I really like about them is their honesty in terms of design. They’re not pretentious, very straightforward. This is Orient. And for 26,600 yen, you’ll never go wrong with that. On the other hand, there’s another Seikko display over here. And these are the field watches. And then the Seikko 5 automatic watches for 31,000 yen. That is the cream one. And the black one in the middle is at 31,000 yen. And then on your left, it’s at 29,600 yen. But these are I feel like these are 36 mm watch. And then look at this GMT watch. This is the SBSC 011. And then on its right is the 013. Both of them ranging from 41,000 up to 44,800 yen. And we are using the SBSC 009 right here. This is a Japan exclusive release. And if you haven’t watched the video where I acquired that watch, I’ll put the link on the description box down below so you can watch it after this one. The very popular SBSZ001 for 48,000 yen. And on its right side, same price, 48,000 yen. We also have this SBS00001. We got it back I think last year of March for around 27,000 yen only. And right now they’re selling it for 31,000 yen. Have a look at that. That is a Sony camera and we’re being projected like live. There you go, boys and girls. That’s us. Let’s now take things a notch higher. These are the Omega Speed Master for 1,000 1 million yen. I’m sorry. And by the way, if you guys don’t know, Speed Master back in 1960s, Speed Master is the only watch that passed all test and becoming the only watch qualified for all man space missions back then. It is my first time to see this Omega Speed Master. By the way, for the price, it’s 1.4 million yen. I really like the dial color. It looks like a light brown but muted. I totally feel like I can use it in a daily basis. Wow. Omega Speed Master daily basis. Wow. Let me rephrase that. The color dial is very easy to pair with any clothes. There you go. That sounds better. More omegas, boys and girls. Just feel free to pause the video if you want to check on something because for me, this wrist piece are moving in a different world and time. In short, it’s way out of our league for now. All right, boys and girls. I’m declaring it for now because I do believe in the law of attraction. Lonene watches are waiting here as well for you guys. I’m not going to pretend I have almost zero knowledge about these watches. So, feel free to pause the video if you’re seeing something and then let me know in the comment section so I can research more about that watch. But something caught our attention here, the black one, this two for 150,000 yen. I mean, that’s for one watch. All right. And then the small one on your right is at 140,000 yen. Brightling has a presence here as well. Every time I saw these watches, I feel like they are intended for pilots or anything that is related to air. I don’t know why. I don’t know. Probably it’s just because of the design and for the price point, it is ranging between 500,000 yen up to 1 million yen. If you’ve been following my content for the past few months or weeks, I’m always saying that I’m really hoping that in the future I can buy my first um high-end watch in the form of twodoor. I don’t know why am I being drawn to their design, but you know, speaks for my taste. It doesn’t really matter to me if they say that this is the poor man’s Rolex. I don’t care. As long as I like it, then I can go for it. So, this one on your upper left with the blue dial is at 440,000 yen. As we dive deeper in this watch collection, I’m starting to understand and feel like you guys do what you do. Pick what you want, wear what you want to wear, even if it’s a Panerai that’s absurdly huge in your wrist. You know, if you’re that person who likes it big, then go for it. It doesn’t matter as long as you are enjoying the watch, by all means. All I’m trying to say that each and every one of us has a personal preference. And you know this watch hobby supposed is for you to enjoy. All right, not to stress. Patiently waiting here would be the Rolex Explorer 1 and on its left side would be the Submariners and the Explorer ones are ranging from 1.4 million yen. If you’re going to convert that to Philippine peso, that would be I would say roughly around 600k pesos. And in USD, that would be around 9,500 USD. I’m really having hard time with the conversion. It’s math, boys. The Explorer 2 Polar Dial is available here as well for 1.9 million yen. If you’re going to convert that to Philippine peso, roughly around 800,000 pesos. These are just rough estimates, so definitely it’s not going to be accurate. And in US dollars, uh, I would say 1 million roughly around 10,000 USD. Some random date justs here for 1.2 to 1.4 million yen. And again, my favorite, the Oyster Perpetual Tiffany collar for 2.4 million yen. And obviously, I don’t have the money to buy that one. I just remembered as well last March we were in Hong Kong. It was pure Rolex. was the Rolex overload. If you haven’t watched those videos, I’ll put the link on the description box down below so you can check it for yourself after this one. Just in case you are really leaning towards the Rolex watch. Lowkey personal favorite of mine, Tag Hoyer. This is the Aqua Racer in the middle for 312,000 yen. And on its right side, another Aqua Racer, but it has a colored blue dial for 332,000 yen. On its left side, a sexy pure black with an accent of yellow. This is the I’m not sure. This is an aquaer as well for 540,000 yen. That is the discounted price, boys. We are now here in the DJI section. And right off the bat, we found the DJI Avata 2 over here. This is a drone that I am currently eyeing. Uh it’s an FPV drone. Just in case you are wondering about my background, yes, I do fly drones. I used to have a job where my sole purpose is to fly a Phantom 3 back then. Years ago, I was able to fly a Mavic as well. So, but it has been like years now since I last touched a machine like this or a gadget like this. And after reviewing the DJI Avat, I feel like this is a fun drone for me. That’s why I’m kind of gearing towards this. Again, the price point right now for the tax-free price, it’s going to be 159,000 yen for the FlyMore Combo. And if I’m going to convert that to Philippine peso, that is 61,100 pesos. But if I’m going to buy in the Philippines, it will only cost me for the DJI Avat Fly More Combo, it will only cost me 59,000 pesos. So I can save extra 2,000 pesos if I’ll buy it in the Philippines. I’m not just sure if they have an extra discount on it. But for now, let’s just stick on the tag price that is currently placed here. A quick tip, if you are planning to buy a drone or a DJI Osmo Pocket or any camera here that will require a memory card, by all means, don’t buy a memory card here in Japan because it’s severely overpriced. Unfortunately for me, I had to learn the hard way. I was able to buy what you call this a 128 GB memory card for around I’m not even sure if it’s around 4,000 pesos, but back in the Philippines, you can buy it for a way cheaper price. I’m kind of surprised that the drone here is pricier than what we have in the Philippines. They also have Insta 360 X4 is also available for 61,637 yen. I know I was not able to highlight all of the watches available here, but at least for now, you have a good idea of where to find and what to expect here inside the big camera in Namba. If you have any suggestions, please let me know in the comment section. I would love to hear it from you. And again, if you’re not yet subscribed in our channel, hit the subscribe button. I beg you guys, it will really mean a lot to me and you’re going to help me more moving forward in creating more content like this. It’s already 9:00 p.m. It’s time for me to hit the dinner again. Thank you for keeping up with me on this episode and I’ll see you again next week for another one. Mad Corner, I’m out. I break a back. Return to the back. The king is

In this episode, I take you on a raw, unfiltered journey through the bustling streets of Osaka and the quiet corners of Kyoto. Two cities pulsing with culture, flavor, and surprises. We’re not just here to eat and admire temples. We’re here for JDM watches like Seiko, Citizen, vintage gems, and secondhand finds you won’t see anywhere else.
But be warned, this is not your typical Osaka or Kyoto travel guide. This is about the hunt. The thrill of finding that one vintage JDM piece buried in a pawnshop, or lost among shelves in a BookOff Super Bazaar that smells like old plastic and quiet desperation. Sometimes, it includes the conversations you have without speaking. Just nods, gestures, and a shared respect between you and a Japanese shopkeeper who knows exactly what you’re looking for.
Osaka hits you in the face the second you arrive. Namba’s alive and twitching with color, food stalls coughing up steam, Don Quijote’s flashing madness burning your ears with the don don donki music. But beneath the noise are gems that even I myself is not expecting at all.
And then there’s Kyoto. Everyone talks about the temples, the geisha district, the bamboo groves. But I was here for something else and my intention is precise like a second hand in your watch. A city that wears time like a well-worn kimono. Under the tourist gloss are secondhand stores where I will be pushing my luck and see where it will go. Watches that have outlived trends, tasted decades, and now sits quietly waiting for someone who gets it. But do not be fooled because it is not always sunshine and rainbows here. Sometimes we hit, sometimes we miss.
If you’re looking for the best places to buy watches in Osaka or Kyoto, if you’re into secondhand shopping in Japan, if you just want to feel like you’re wandering the backstreets with a pocketful of yen and no particular plan, then you are about to consume the correct content. And yeah, I’ll show you how to get to these places too. Train by train. Stop by stop. No nonsense.
I’ll be honest with you, I might not help you completely as a tourist guide for your Kansai trip. But I will show you the other side of Osaka and Kyoto. The side that doesn’t care if you’re a tourist or a collector. It’s just waiting for you to show up and pay attention.
