Hi, looking for some opinions here. Going to be importing my first JDM ever. Now just need to choose which one to get. I am looking at Honda Odyssey Absolute RB1/RB2 OR Toyota Wish 2007-2008 1.8L Automatic (non-cvt). I do see people complaining about the Odyssey transmission being weak/having problems but any insight on the Toyota Wish? I know it uses the Aisin 4 speed Automatic which is pretty much bulletproof but anyone here have any insight on the Toyota Wish? I don’t see much reviews on it.
P.S I am based in Manitoba, Canada

The 1.8L motor in Wish is pretty durable. Just use quality oil as the piston rings might fail earlier (its almost 20 years old lol). For fuel consumption, its not bad considering its only 1.8L. The parts are similar with Corolla so its inexpensive to repair. Or if u want more HP, get the 2.0L
As for the Odyssey, its a K series so expect more power + higher fuel consumption. Its shares some parts with the Accord too if u want a peace of mind. Suspension is more expensive to maintain than wish, its a double wishbone like accord iirc.
I’m from Malaysia & we imported thousands of Wishes and Odysseys from Japan 20yrs ago while Thailand locally manufactured them. Most of the issues we have is due to our weather, averaging at 35-36°C DAILY🔥 so A/C, cooling system tend to fail earlier and suspension bcs some roads in poorer states are bad that u need a Humvee or a Baja truck.
Wish for a peace of mind, Odyssey for more premium feel, power, comfort and power OR get a caldina like me.
100% the Odyssey lmao
