Frasers Hospitality has officially launched YOTEL Tokyo Ginza, its first ground-up development in Japan, marking a strategic expansion into high-growth Asian gateway cities.
Located on a redeveloped site in Tokyo’s Ginza district, the 244-room property opened its doors to guests in December 2024 and celebrated its official inauguration in June 2025.
Developed in partnership with UK-based operator YOTEL, the hotel integrates modular, tech-forward design with compact room layouts of 14 to 18 sqm, suited to Tokyo’s dense urban landscape.

According to Eu Chin Fen, CEO of Frasers Hospitality, “YOTEL Tokyo Ginza integrates our strengths and expertise in investment, development and asset management while enabling us to be responsive to local market dynamics.”
Since its soft opening, the property has maintained occupancy levels above 70%, drawing both domestic and international travellers due to its proximity to Shimbashi station and Ginza’s shopping district.
Frasers Hospitality has used this investment to highlight its returns-focused, brand-agnostic strategy. Jason Leong, executive director, said, “Japan and China are cornerstone markets in our long-term North Asia strategy… we leverage our integrated, end-to-end investor-developer-operator platform to deliver bespoke hospitality and lodging solutions that maximise returns.”
Beyond Japan, Frasers Hospitality is preparing for the full opening of Modena by Fraser Shenzhen in 4Q 2025. The 325-unit Premium Rental Apartment was developed in partnership with Tishman Speyer.
