In the market for an import or imported already station wagon. All I know is it needs to be a station wagon. I'm located in AZ not many it feels like out here.

Some of the considerations so far are a stagea, crown, accord or caldina.

Thinking about looks, reliability, price inflation, parts, engine mods. I know sometimes mods and reliability can go together but one can have some faith right.

What would your wagon be and why?

  1. Stagea 260RS. I have an R32 GTR and I’m still shopping for one. It’s perfect.

  2. if you want comfort alone then a crown wagon or something like a mercedes s123 or s124 would be what i recommend. if you want fuel economy and practicality then something like a camry or a toyota caldina/rolla wagon. if you want fun then a stagea 260rs, manual swapped crown or a manual e30/e36/e46/e91/e34/e39 wagon. if you want something low maintenance as in “i just want to change fluids, filters and maybe spark plugs to make it run forever” then i suggest you stick to the jdm options or a diesel s123/s124.

Athlete v estate. Down pipe, exhaust and boost controller get you roughly 340whp. Tons of features, tons of aftermarket support, 1j reliability.

I had a 2008 Subaru wagon for a while. Was alright.

  5. If you want a unicorn there’s always a Honda B18 powered civic Aerodeck from the EU.

I had a t210 caldina gt-t for a while great car awd 3sgte basically a celica wrapped in a wagon.

If you get a stagea i strongly recommend the vastly better engine and trans options of the previous model wc34.

Crowns are good. Just don’t expect neck snapping power from any of the v8 engines stock. I’ve had a couple cars with the 1uz and 3uz and they’re great super reliable small v8s but Toyota chokes and downtunes the ever living shit outta them. I can’t imagine a world where I’d want a Toyota v6.

  7. Since we are discussing wagons in here, does anyone know how difficult manual swapping an Avenir would be? I really love the look of them but I really don’t want to go back to driving an automatic car at this point

What about a Legacy GT/STI or Forrester STI?
