TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 43-year-old man for allegedly groping a teenage girl and splashing her with bodily fluid inside a train carriage last year, reports the Sankei Shimbun (July 9).

On the morning of November 18, Kensuke Nishinomiya, an office worker living in Sumida Ward, allegedly pressed his lower body against a woman inside a carriage of the Keisei Electric Railway Keisei Oshiage Line and sprayed her with bodily fluid.

Upon his arrest on suspicion of indecent assault and causing property damage, Nishimiya admitted to the allegations. “I’ve done this about 20 times over the course of three years,” he told the Kuramae Police Station.

According to police, the train was crowded at the time of the incident, which made it difficult to move. Nishinomiya carried out the alleged crime while standing behind the victim.

After getting off the train, the woman noticed that her clothes were soiled and consulted with the Kuramae Police Station. Nishinomiya emerged as a suspect through an examination of security camera footage and other means.

Police investigating whether the suspect was behind other similar incidents.
