The Blue Island in Japan | Miyakojima
Around 300km south from Japan’s mainland, there’s a little island surrounded by calmÂ
beautiful nature and endless blue of the sea. This place is called Miyakojima. It’sÂ
a small island in Okinawa Prefecture, and a place that doesn’t feel likeÂ
the Japan most people know. On this island it’s all about nature, slowerÂ
life and full of peaceful moments. This time we started our trip from Osaka, andÂ
to reach Miyakojima, we have to take 2 flights, first we have to fly to Okinawa then haveÂ
another 50 mins flight to Miyakojima island I arrived at the sunset and thisÂ
is my first meal of the day. The first place I want to go is the Yonaha Beach, people often called it theÂ
most beautiful beach in Japan. The sea is so clear and with that turquioseÂ
blue sea color with the white sand, this place is so peaceful and the best part of it, it’s not even crowded although they saidÂ
it’s the most beautiful beach in Japan. And from the beach, you can see the Kurima BridgeÂ
at the background connecting the Kurima island. Today I actually planned to explore the KurimaÂ
Island, so after a morning at the Yonaha Beach, I drive across the bridge and foundÂ
one of the best Soba on the island. Kurima Island is a small, charming island onÂ
the south of Miyakojima. Although it’s small, it has something special to see and explore here. And I found a beautiful sea cave whereÂ
I can walk inside when it’s in low tide. Before leaving the Kurima Island, I stopped by the Kurima port. It’s a littleÂ
fishing port just next to the Kurima bridge. And the rest of my 2nd day was exploring someÂ
part of the island and doing some photography. The next day, I am heading to Irabu Island, it’sÂ
the 2nd largest island in Miyakojima after the main island. This is the Irabuohashi bridge,Â
it’s the longest bridge over the sea that you can drive for free in Japan. And it took nearly 40Â
years from planning to completion of this bridge Irabu Island is actually lots ofÂ
farmland and not much to stop by And after crossing over Irabu Island, IÂ
arrived at Shimoji island. It’s an island just next to Irabu. And this place has aÂ
very special name called 17END. The name actually means the end of the runway 17Â
of the local airport When in low tide, there’s a small white sand beach appears rightÂ
by the runway. But what really made me to come here was to watch the planes flying fromÂ
the endless blue ocean to the airport. And today, I am at Cape Nishihennazaki,
the northern most point of the Miyakojima’s main island. It’s a narrow path leadsÂ
all the way out to the tip of the cape. I got here way too early untilÂ
sunset, so i explored around, climbed a few cliffs and just chillingÂ
around waiting for the sunset. And finally, the color of the skyÂ
is turning into beautiful orange and I am so happy I stayed here until the sunset. Today is a long day coz after dinner IÂ
am heading all the way to the bottom tip of the island. and tonight the sky is so clear,Â
it’s the best time to photograph the Milky Way. It’s not my first time seeing Milky Way, butÂ
this time is the clearest one I’ve ever seen. I could even see it withÂ
my eyes without the camera The next few days I did not film much but justÂ
to enjoy the beautiful nature of the island. Driving back and forth to the top, crossingÂ
between the islands to photograph some different moments of the nature. MiyakojimaÂ
is small but it has so many to experience.
