10 cool things to do in Tokyo! From a Japanese local 🇯🇵 #tokyotravel #tokyofood #discovertokyo
here are 10 cool things to do in Tokyo Japan first let’s talk food tokyo has a lot of Michelin starred restaurants but you don’t have to pay a fortune for a great meal instead head to a Biband restaurant for highquality Japanese food for a fraction of the Michelin star price my favorites are these and are absolutely worth the hype number two go pee in the see-through public toilets at Yogi Corin it sounds insane but hear me out the glass is completely transparent until you lock the door and then it frosts over for privacy it’s part of Tokyo’s effort to make public toilets more inviting and honestly it’s worth seeing just for the novelty number three experiencing a Japanese tea ceremony it’s such a peaceful intimate way to experience highgrade matcha and also to immerse yourself in Japanese tradition number four going to a vinyl listening bar or cafe i found this place last year and was so in love with its vibe every table has its own record player and you can pick from hundreds of vinyls while enjoying a coffee or a snack but if you want something a bit more social and prefer a vinyl listening bar these are my favorite go-tos number five checking out Tokyo’s car scene and Shibuya is one of the best places to catch it in action on weekend nights you’ll see everything from low riders to pristine vintage skylines cruising through the streets it’s so epic so keep your eyes peeled number six is designer thrifting tokyo is a paradise for designer vintage fashion especially at such insane prices shibuya Harajuku and Omote Sandor definitely have the coolest looking shops in the city and because they’re all so close to each other it’s pretty ideal to simply wander around from shop to shop just taking it all in these are some of my favorite vintage shops to check out in these areas by the way I have a Tokyo guide which lists all these kinds of hidden gems if you want more details number seven enjoying sunset at the observation deck of the Mori Art Museum i know that tourists love Shibuya sky and rightfully so because it is just such a wonderful experience but these days tickets have just almost been impossible to get the observation deck of Mori offers equally stunning views with way less hassle here are some other incredible high-rise viewpoints number eight is visiting Nezu Shrine most people will go to Matei Jingu or Senoji which are incredible but Nezu shrine is just as beautiful and way less crowded it’s got this incredible tunnel of red Tori gates kind of like Fushimi and Kyoto but on a much smaller scale number nine seeing the Tokyo rockeries if you ever wondered what Japanese Elvis would have looked like this legendary crew meet every Sunday at Yoy Yogi Park to dance to rock and roll they’ve been doing it for decades and it’s just one of those uniquely talk things which you have to see in person and lastly number 10 visiting Book and Bed Shinjuku it’s basically a capsule hotel hidden inside a library you sleep in a cozy nook in between bookshelves and you’re surrounded by thousands of English and Japanese books it’s a really unique concept and great for anyone budget traveling

I was in Tokyo in 1996 and visited an avenue on a Sunday, it was closed to traffic and everyone was parading around in 1950s clothes.
Where is that avenue?
Do you have also a video of Osaka?
I needed this video 3 weeks ago! I'll save it for the next trip out there.
