Hi everyone, I hope you’re keeping well.
I’ve just sold my R35 GTR, I had it for 4 years and ended up getting bored of the automatic transmission and all of the assist/systems it has in place.
I’m on the market to get either an R32 or MK4 Supra; they’d both have manual boxes, single turbos and been undersealed. I’ve sat in both, driven both but can’t decide. I’m aware that either will be a downgrade in performance but I’m not going to be chasing numbers, there are a couple on the market making around 500hp at the wheel which is more than enough for me.
If anyone owns one or has any experience, it’d be much appreciated!
Thanks.

Hi mate,
I never drove any of the 3 cars you’re mentionning.
But. If you want to buy a car already-build, make sure to know what specific mods are equipped, what’s the maintenance schedule, and so far on..
Imho, unless you want to drive the r32/Supra for less than 2 years and only on vacation, you’d be happier buying an OEM one, and adding/upgrading what YOU’ll appreciate the more on the car..
Since you come from a r35 I’d suggest you take the supra next, to see a true difference in handling, driving assistés, etc.. but I don’t know your whole car historic so 🤔
Why not a NSX?
I own a mk4 Supra, great handling car fun to drive, lots of power potential and easily buildable to the 500hp mark reliably with no serious engine work. Reliable. Easy to work on, parts are expensive.
I love Nissans, I love awd, I’ve owned awd turbo Nissans and they are a blast. But you won’t be achieving a reliable rb25/6 at 500hp without some engine work and they can be less than reliable. The awd can be selectable with the r32 with a switch essentially so it can let you fuck around and then get your awd back when desired. Parts are also expensive but not as expensive as the mk4 since they made more of these.
Tough…but still Mk4 Supra
driven both. never really put a lot of kilometers or owned either for a long time but i liked the r32 more. it feels easier to push with added power and is better handling at high speeds. also i think it looks better.
R32 for fast driving, Supra for straight line speed
Jzx100/110 > jza80!
MK4 Supra. R32 GT-R is an amazing car but sourcing parts (and affording them) for the R32 is a huge pain. With both being older cars, MK4 benefits from being less complex and JZ engine and drive train shared across a number of Toyota/Lexus platform over a decade.
Of the two listed, driving an R32 is the memory that’s seared in my brain. Driving a MK IV Supra was cool, but the R32 was an experience; if that makes any sense.
Owned both. Or rather owned about 10 differed R32’s a couple of R33’s and a couple of R34’s and one MK4 Supra. That should tell you where my heart lies.
Depends on where you live:
If you live in the US… Buy a Supra
If you live in Australia/NZ/UK buy a Skyline
If you live in Japan, buy either
If you live anywhere else, buy neither
Mk4b if you plan on doing big HP on the straight, r32 if you want a more balanced car to have fun a bit everywhere.
It’s red…. The r32
just keep in mind the r32 was never sold here while the supra was so finding parts for it will be harder if anything breaks.
that being said i’d probably still pick godzilla since it’s my literal dream car
Driven both own a r32 gtr, the supra is to big and to bulky to move around here good fast tourer for motorways.
The r32 is more nimble and feels for me more planted, only bad thing I can say is oil pump.
The r33 is just a bit bigger with softer lines but still a good choice just newer.
The car with the “GTR” badge, please.
The Supra, but these classic GTR’s are more rare in the US.
