🇯🇵 Spending a day in Okinawa – Naha and main landmarks

[Music] we completed our 5 days of holiday in Kyushu and we are arriving to Okinawa now it’s a 1 and 1/2 hour flight from Fukoka we will be arriving to Na airport [Music] after the luggage pickup we went to shuttle bus area for car rentals little bit trouble out there but we managed to find ours it is Japanese only but we managed to speak through Google Translate first minutes of me driving in Okinawa i have 5 days of experience driving on the right side now we are ready for some exploration by walk we are in Kokusidori it means international street but please correct me if I’m wrong okusai is Naha’s bustling main street filled with shops restaurants and local culture it is a great place to try Okinawan street food buy souvenirs and enjoy live music we will be coming to Kokusai Dori multiple times during our stay in Naha since we just came and quite hungry we are going for yukatsu [Music] soyo sauce and those sauce whipped together [Music] [Music] now we draw from Kokusai to Shuri Castle shuri Castle was the royal palace of the Rayuku Kingdom and was built in 14th century though destroyed multiple times most recently by fire in 2019 it’s being lovingly restored as a symbol of resilience yes watch out for those just in case visitors can explore the grounds gates and learn about Okinawa’s royal history through exhibits and panoramic views which one is mine [Music] after 10 minutes car ride we reached to Shikina and Royal Gardens this place was the second residence of the Ryukyu kings built in the late 18th century as a peaceful retreat one could observe Okinavan and Chinese influences in this garden [Music] if you’re asking yes it spooks me [Music] watch out the snakes
uh-oh peace Memorial Park in Okinawa stands as a powerful tribute to the lives lost during the Battle of Okinawa in World War II it honors over 200,000 people civilians and soldiers alike from all sides of the conflict with its ocean views and quiet gardens it’s a place for reflection remembrance and a hope for lasting peace the park’s heart is the cornerstone of peace where thousands of names are etched into stone it is about time to check in in our hotel room and give you a quick room tour
