Snippets of my 9-day Okinawa round island cycling tour in Nov 2024. I deposited the Vincita Travel bag at the airport baggage deposit counter and was able to complete the entire circuit riding out from the airport and back. I did not expect to complete this as there was an unprecedented torrential storm just a few days before the trip and a typhoon looming. Turned out I only got caught in a heavy rain one morning and managed to reach accommodation before the rain started or the rain was very light on other days. During the trip, I rode and hiked to Ara cape which was another hidden gem with unique vegetation. As there was no one else there and the wind was not too strong, I played around with the drone settings and also manual flight control using phone. I also visited the Former Japanese Navy Bunker where Japanese naval forces made their last stand during WWII. The trip concluded with a 30min ferry to the pristine Nagannu island for snorkelling and chilling by the beach!
Total riding stats:
Distance – 462 km
Elevation gain – 4600 m
Days – 9
Hours – 35h
