New regulations for hiking Mt. Fuji in 2025 #hiking #mtfuji #japan
here’s what you need to know before hiking Mount Fuji in 2025 first you need to decide whether you’re staying in a mountain hut or doing a day hike it’ll matter because dayhikers are not allowed to enter the mountain by 2:00 p.m overnight hikers I think you can just make sure that you reach your mountain hut before lights off then you have to register using their official app if you’re hiking the Yosha trail install the Fuji Mountain app for the other three trails install the Shizuoka Fuji Navi we’re hiking the Fuji Numia Trail so I’m installing the Shizawaka one just click new registration fill these all out and click purchase new climbing permit as you can see here there’s a different permit for day trip climbers and overnight ones as for me and my friends we’re doing a day hike you will be asked to pay 4,000 yen per person regardless of the trail that you take then choose your date you’d have to sign up again for this website but I just log in with my Google account fill this all out and pay after this you need to receive your tickets and or give the tickets to your friends to receive your ticket just click the coupon and click open the Shizoka Fuji Navi app complete the training and pass the test fill this out and you have successfully picked up your ticket a little alone for those outside Japan the Shizoka Fuji Navi app is still experiencing some issues regarding time zones and one of my friends also could not even install the app on his phone because it says it’s not available on his region or country so let’s hope that this gets resolved soon you can still sign up on the day but it might take longer and you have to come a little earlier than when you’re supposed to once you have registered the next thing you have to do is to book a hut also make sure to book early because slots are very limited can you hike Mount Fuji in a day yes you can however you have to start early and make sure that you also finish early enough to catch the last bus at the fifth station by 700 p.m this is different from bullet climbing where you climb all throughout the night and without any prior rest that is strictly frowned upon starting at around let’s say 7:00 a.m and finishing in the afternoon is perfectly fine you can find sample dayhike itineraries at the Mount Fuji website happy hiking
