A place you’ll want to visit again – The scenery and food are amazing! #Japan #ocean #travel
In this and the next video, we will take you to Cape Hyuga, 78 km north of Miyazaki City. Let’s go to the tip of Cape Hyuga first. Here we are.😊 View from the car park. Not many tourists, probably because it was a weekday. There were hydrangeas of various colors in bloom, which were so beautiful.♡ Map of Cape Hyuga. The red star is where we are.
There are a lots of sights to see♪ There are two trails to the Cape Hyuga Lookout, but we will take the left boardwalk, which is less steep. Pleasant weather in the middle of the rainy season♪ The forest is cool and ideal for walking. We’ll go to the lighthouse later and continue on the path to the left. Observation spot with a glass bottom renewed in 2022. From this lookout point, you can see the 70 m high “columnar joints of Cape Hyuga”, which are designated as a national natural monument. The cape juts out into the Pacific Ocean and is called “Horse’s Back” because its shape looks like the back of a horse when viewed from above. The glass floor allows you to see straight down, making it a thrilling experience. Past the lookout point on the horse’s back, and go further in. Then… The Pacific Ocean is right in front of us! Walking along this long, long promenade jutting out into the ocean is like walking on the sea. The road is a little bumpy from this area. We are now at the end of the boardwalk. Surrounded by the ocean, the feeling of freedom is amazing. From the tip of the cape, the next stop is Hososhima Lighthouse. From here it’s about 400 metres, not that far … …but! Steep slopes all the way up.💦 We finally arrived at an open area.😊 Take a break to look at the beautiful sea. 100 metres to the lighthouse! Hosojima Lighthouse was built in 1910. It was first built of hexagonal brick, but was rebuilt in 1941 in concrete. In 2019, it was designated a national tangible cultural property. Finally the lighthouse is in sight! The lighthouse against the blue sky is breathtakingly beautiful.♡ The view from the observatory was spectacular, but the view from here is also excellent! After admiring the view from the lookout and lighthouse, back near the car park, and we found that … …a cat was napping comfortably. ❤️ At lunchtime, go to Hososhima Harbour. We can smell good fish♪ There is one place we really wanted to visit this time. Here it is♪ Umi no Eki Hososhima (Hososhima Sea Station) When you enter the entrance, you will see this machine, choose a menu, put in your money and take a ticket. We were able to sit in a nice seat with a view of the harbour♪ Rinaldo ordered the Katsuo-don set meal, priced at 1,350 yen. There are plenty of fresh bonito sashimi landed at this port♪ And the best part was this miso soup which is made with stock from various fish bones.♡ I ordered the Konamasu set meal, priced at 1,300 yen. Konamasu is a local cuisine of Hososhima, These rice balls, which were accidentally created by fishermen in the past, are made by mixing rice and bonito sashimi and roasting them over a fire. This is Gonguri, another local cuisine of Hososhima. This dish is made from bonito stomachs and is said to have been brought back by fishermen from Nichinan city (South of MIyazaki) in the past. A pickled dish with small fish and fresh sashimi from Hososhima, And miso soup with plenty of fish stock♪ Rinaldo kept saying ‘How delicious it is!’ repeatedly throughout the meal.😊 This is what the inside of a Konamasu looks like. It was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and really tasty♪ Next to the restaurant is a direct sales area, you can buy seafood processed products, vegetables and fruit… …and fresh fish landed here. We were surprised at low prices! These are rock oyster from Hososhima. There’s quite a lot in here, but only 1,500 yen?! We were very satisfied with the delicious food, and next we headed to the Kuroda’s vassals’ tombs. Here are the tombs of three SAMURAKI(Kaiga Miyato, Nakamura Kazue and Chiba Ikutaro), who were captured during the Terada Incident in Kyoto in 1862. They were slaughtered on their way to be escorted back to Satsuma(Current Kagoshima) and mourned on this island where their bodies washed ashore. When the tide is low, you can cross to the islet where their tombs are located, unfortunately, it was not possible to cross to the other side of the sea at this time. Listening to the sound of the waves gently lapping against the shore, it seems to be incredible that such a tragedy ever happened…
This time we visited Cape Hyuga in the north of Miyazaki.
Part 1 introduces Hososhima, the northern part of Cape Hyuga.
It is full of attractions such as ‘Umagase’, which is designated as a national natural monument, Cape Hyuga Observatory, which is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, and the Hososhima Lighthouse, which is designated as a national tangible cultural property. 😊
It also introduces inexpensive and delicious Hososhima local cuisine.
Hope you will enjoy it all the way to the end♪
No talk. Only sound of nature and the music by Rinaldo and Satomi.

はぁ~、日向岬、行ってみたいなぁ☺️それにしても、お魚の安いこと!ビックリしました。
テロップの囲み(黒)は、無い方が、見やすいかな~と思いましたが、他の視聴者さんは、どうでしょうか?
Magnifico questa natura è stupenda! Un posto magico, un incanto❤
wow. that food is so cheap! that would be so expensive in the UK! The fishcakes look an awful lot better than the ones you get in our fish and chip shops too!
Thank you for bringing Japan closer to those of us who cannot travel there. Each of your videos is better than the previous one. Thank you very much.
