Con oltre 2 milioni di abitanti, Nagoya è la quarta città più popolosa del Giappone e uno dei più importanti centri industriali dell’isola di Honshu. Lo sviluppo della città si ebbe con il potente clan Owari, appartenente alla dinastia regnante Tokugawa, che lasciò in eredità palazzi ed edifici di grande splendore che però sono in gran parte stati distrutti durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Nonostante questo la città offre una serie di attrattive adatte a tutti, dai musei ai parchi tematici, ed è inoltre una base ideale per visitare alcune note mete turistiche come Takayama e Shirakawa-go.

With over 2 million inhabitants, Nagoya is the fourth most populous city in Japan and one of the most important industrial centers on the island of Honshu. The city’s development took place under the powerful Owari clan, belonging to the ruling Tokugawa dynasty, who left behind palaces and buildings of great splendor that were however largely destroyed during the Second World War. Despite this, the city offers a series of attractions suitable for everyone, from museums to theme parks, and is also an ideal base for visiting some famous tourist destinations such as Takayama and Shirakawa-go.
