Kyoto Travel : Must See Kyoto Travel Guide (Japan)
hi Guys welcome to YTND and today I’m in the most beautiful city in Japan You can look at this background and you will know that I am in Kyoto We are starting a Kyoto adventure with a visit to the Zen temple And that’s beautiful The zen garden is like the meditation for your eyes [Music] This is in saying flying geese intends to cast no shadow and water has no mind to retain its image This is a perfect place to go to that state The state of no mind Iandu temple Kyoto is a heaven for meditators to give you We found a very small cute little restaurant here to try Omu rice It’s like a 10-seater restaurant One of the most luxurious property in Kyoto is Aman Kyoto It is beautiful and in my opinion this is a microcosm of what all Kyoto stands for Aman Kyoto gives you a feeling that you’re inside a forest It has a green cover and it’s spectacular Like if you like nature this is paradise The Ammon Resorts are one of the most luxurious resorts in the world and Aman Kyoto is no exception It only has 26 rooms and this is the main pavilion where you can have your afternoon tea or breakfast It is gorgeous It overlooks a garden It is beautiful This property is by the hillside and it leads to a forest And this is the garden that I was talking [Music] about And this is how the pavilion looks from the distance Super aesthetic Japanese restaurant Taka an it means it is facing the mountain and it’s also very nice and here is the chef and the manager here at the Japanese restaurant Taka is the chef Shumas and it’s [Music] a chef’s menu this is the first [Music] This is the second course Yeah this is the fish that we tried It was delicious [Music] We’re trying the squid shushi Yes All together This is a shrimp sushi So this is some speciality sushi It’s called a bon fish This is a cold soba But this is a white soba It’s not gray So this is some specialized stuff This is sea urchin with potato Actually it’s not a potato They gave me a big description This is a part which connect connects the stem to the leaves I don’t remember the value of [Music] this This is the grilled sea brim This is the coobe beef This property has about 2,000 maple trees Now I am in the well preserved old district of Kyoto It’ll give you a good glimpse of the past Let’s have a look at this Higashyama district This is the famous Kodaji temple of Kyoto There is also a bamboo bamboo groove here And this is the way to go to the bamboo gro Right next to the Kuraji temple is the Entoken temple This is a Zen temple And this Zen garden to me looked very inviting and that’s why we chose to come here The beauty of these Zen temples can transcend you into the state of Zen Zen master Kodosawaki once said that the whole of Buddhism is a footnote to Zen And when you come to Kyoto you can feel that you know he’s right And when in Kyoto you must try the matcha ice cream This is the bakayat at Higashiamyama and that in front is the main tourist street and there’s a beautiful statue there of the lady Buddha at a distance and if you can climb a bit of stairs you’ll get a Fabulous view of the Higashiamyama area I’ll zoom it [Music] And this is the famous touristy street It’s a walking street It’s like stepping back in time but it’s beautifully preserved and has some really good selections of straws Each of these storefronts are pretty well done up and they’re very store selling some fragrances And in Kyoto you’re never away from a Zen Garden This is at the back side of the store And this is the famous Starbucks in Higashyama district It’s got a vintage look [Music] We are standing on the Kamogawa River which is the main river that flows in Kyoto And there are a lot of restaurants here overlooking the river This spot is actually very famous and it’s called as a Pontto Chali I’ll try to show that in the night as well If a shopaholic in you is twisting and turning then there’s no better place than Kawara Machi Is an amazing place to shop or people watch And this is the famous uh Takashi Maya department store And next to it is Mousashi There are a lot of department stores here in Japan in general and on the street in particular in Kyoto And this is a fairly long street It has a lot of options and a good atmosphere [Music] We’re inside a store that specializes in Japanese knives [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Is that the same money We at the famous street called as a Kiaam Machi Street This is a nice cute little river It’s very quaint and this street has a lot of restaurants cafes and bars If you are in Kyoto this must be on yours list to visit You can walk down to the river and the street is very green and has these traditional Japanese lampost It’s beautiful This is very cute standing cafe You can order some wine or beer and I think just a standing place It’s just a cute and a very nice spot And as the night falls the same kamachi turns on a completely different type of a charm From the zen of Kyoto it transforms into the zing of Kyoto You can see a lot of people partying here having a good time but it’s still beautiful It’s [Music] [Music] just it looks like a transformed street Now I’ll take you to a very special place It’s a very aesthetic place that is famous for restaurants and some bars We’re heading to Honto And this narrow alley is known as Hanto It has a bit of night life and a lot of charm This uh stretch of Ponttoure is right by the Kamadawa River So if you come here in the evening you also get a very good views of the river I’ll select one of the cozy bars This looks very nice to me Let’s see how it is I did not go to that bar in Ponttoo Yeah that seemed like a tourist trap to me I settled for a very elegant bar It’s named Bar 16 Like so many other Japanese bars this is a very small space but very very nice I’m trying the Yamazaki 12 years old a vintage whiskey and it’s smooth like silk Bloody hell [Music] [Music] Kyoto is Zen by the day and it’s zing by the night It’s yin by the day and yang by the night Signing off from Kyoto Thanks for watching
